with Jane from Just Janie. Now I was watching Janie's channel a while ago, or maybe it was

her Instagram feed, and she'd been doing some junk journaling, which I thought looked really

interesting. I've never tried anything like that before, so I did a bit of research on

it, you know, like you do. And I didn't know whether junk journaling was for me, but what

I did come across when I was researching it was scrapbooking. Now obviously I've heard

of scrapbooking before, but I haven't seen it in such a detailed way. And some of the

channels I was looking at, you know, they really went to town on it. So I thought I

would give scrapbooking a try, and I've been really enjoying it. It's a, you know, it's

a new hobby for me. It's kind of a creative outlet, something that's, you know, fun to

do for an hour or two on a night. And you don't really need a lot of money to do it

You don't need a lot of equipment. I just bought a scrapbook and some little bits and

pieces which I'll show you as I'm doing it. So this is a collaboration with Jane from

Just Jamie. We're both going to do our own scrapbooking page, and it's going to be autumn

themed as it is September as I'm filming this. I don't know what Jane's going to do. She

doesn't know what I'm going to do. So that'll be a surprise. And I'm sure we'll both do

it in different ways. So I'm going to turn the camera around and I'm going to show you

things I'm going to use and how I'm going to lay it out. Now I wasn't sure how to film

this over my shoulder. So I've got the camera to the side of it. So hopefully you can see

exactly what I'm doing. So this is my scrapbook. It's just a plain brown paper scrapbook that

I think I got from the works for, I think it was £5.99 I got this for. So I've also

bought some papers to use to actually use as the background rather than just the brown

page. So I bought two or three of these. Again, this was £4 from the works. This is a nature

one. So it's got lots of different prints in there on backgrounds you could use, you

know, to put your photographs on. That is a nature one. I think I've got a summer one

and a vintage floral one as well. But they are, you know, I thought they were really

reasonable at £4 and very handy. I also bought one of these to cut the paper with. It's a

guillotine. And I did get this from Hobbycraft. And I think this was about £20. I can't remember

exactly. But you just you put your paper in there. You can see the line, you can line it up with

that. That's where it's going to cut. You put that down and then you move this up to the top

to actually cut the paper. So I found that really useful as well to get me edges straight

because I'm not so not so good with the scissors cutting straight. So I chose a photograph for the

autumn theme. This is the photo that I'm going to use. This is my granddaughter Harriet

She's four now. I think she was probably about two there at the time. And she's jumping on all

of the autumn leaves on her trampoline. So I thought that would make a nice photograph for

the scrap page, the scrapbook page. I chose this background from the nature book that I'm going to

use as the background for the photograph. So I'm just going to stick it down on there. I'm going

to lay everything out and then I'm going to go back and stick it down. But I'm going to stick this

down straight away because I know I'm going to use it. So I've chosen a green page with a leaf

pattern on. It also has a pattern on the other side which I didn't want to use. Now what I'm

going to use to stick this down with is a little tape dispenser. I got a pack of these from Amazon

I think they were about £3.99, something like that. And they are quite handy. So you just run

it down the page and it just cuts itself off when you take the tape roller off the page. So I'm just

going to put that in the middle as well just to make sure. And I'm just going to turn that over

and I'm going to stick it down on the page. Now I haven't done much scrapbooking yet like I said

I've seen a lot of scrapbookers on YouTube and they use papers as like a background for the

photograph. So I quite like this paper. This is like a purple leaf paper that I thought I would

use. So I'm going to use that and I'm going to stick this green piece of card to it. So I'm

making a kind of a frame and then I'm going to stick the photograph on top of the green bit

So you can see there you've got like the little frame around the photograph. So I'm going to go

ahead and stick those down because I'm definitely going to use them. Again, this is a double-sided

paper. You could use either side, but I quite like the purple leaf. I think purple's

it feels like an autumn colour. So we'll go with that. I'm going to stick that down

I'm going to stick it round about here I think. And then I'm going to stick the green card on top

I did buy some clear PVA glue to use that I thought might be handy, but I thought I'd get

it everywhere on camera. So I'm using the tape gun there. Stick that green one on the top

And now I'm going to stick the photograph on top of the green. I have actually got my

grandchildren doing scrapbooking as well. I thought when I was buying the scrapbook for myself

I thought Harriet loves crafty stuff. And Ashton, my grandson, who is six, I don't think he's as

much into the crafting, but I knew that if I got Harriet the scrapbook, she would love it

I got him a scrapbook as well. And at the end of the video, I'll show you a couple of pages that

they've done. They're probably better than I am. So that's those stuck down. Now, what I've been

watching on YouTube is then people kind of embellish the page to make the photograph stand

out and the embellishments relate to what the picture's about. And I did, when I was buying

them, they did say to kind of use the embellishments in like a triangle position. So, you know, one

here, one here, and one here. So you've got that triangle and then it draws the eye down across

the picture to your embellishments and you leave a bit of space blank up here. So that's what I'm

going to do. So I've picked a few things out on the internet. I've got a few things that I've

I chose a little door. This is from a pack that I got from Teemu. I got a little pack of doors

So I got these from there, but I just like this little fairy door. I just thought that was really

cute. It's got some little sunflowers around it. It just looked like autumn to me. So I'm going to

use that. This is a sticker that I got. I think I got these from Amazon. There was lots of vintage

kind of stickers and I just thought that little rabbit would look nice on the page. These card

shaped, card cut out pieces of paper, they're all leaves and autumn pumpkins. They were an autumn

pack that I got from the range. Came in a little pack like that. Sorry, I can't see what I'm looking

at here to keep looking underneath to see what the camera's seeing. It was just a little pack of autumn

cut out shapes, cardboard shapes that I got from the range. I'm actually, I was really surprised

the range of craft supplies that the range has got in. I was very surprised. They've actually

got more, they seem to have a more variety than Hobby Craft and they were very reasonable as well

So I was quite impressed with that. So I'll be definitely going back to the range to pick some

more stuff up. I also got these little, I've got a couple of fairies. Again, these were in this pack

that I got from Teemu. It's got like little see-through jars with little flowers and little

fairies in. So I thought I would use a couple of the fairies just to embellish it a bit. And I also

got these, I'm not sure how well you can see those, they're like a gold and clear autumn leaf

mushroom, pumpkin-y kind of sticker. Also got those from the range. They were £1.50, which I thought

were quite cute. Now I'm not sure if I'm going to use these again from the range, some autumn stickers

And these are like a puffy sticker, so they feel a bit 3D. Because I did hear that it was good to

use a range of different medias on the page to just give it a little bit of

texture and some interest. And I'm not sure if I'm going to use these sticky letters

on the page either. These came from a subscription pack that I bought of embellishments

It's called Sunshine on My Mind. And these were from Quirky Crafts, I think. I'll leave the link

below. So I might use those letters. And I've got some little sticky squares, just they're kind of

raised. So if you want to raise your elements off the page, these little stickers

will help do that. So now we just need to position the embellishments. So I thought I'd put this

little, I'm going to definitely with these embellishments, I'm going to place them and then

I'm going to stick them down because I may move them. So I'm going to put this little door

at the bottom. And I'm going to put some pumpkins around it, I think. I quite like this little pumpkin

behind? You can always put things behind things as well. Just put that over the top of the photograph

Now I can't for the life of us peel that off. So I don't know whether you're supposed to just put

looking down at Harriet on the trampoline. And I've got some other fairies here. It's very dark

in here today. Some of the fairies is like a small fairy and a larger fairy and they've got some

flowers. And where shall I put that? Well, I'll put that down beside the house because that is

like, that feels to me like a fairy door. So it would make sense that you've got little fairies

in there. And Harriet, as she's looking down, she looks like she's looking at the fairy door

and the fairies. So I could go on and put more embellishments on there. I'm going to put this

These are the pictures they chose. Ashton chose this one where he's probably only about 18 months

banner on Ashton at Christmas. So he did that one and then he did these. So again, he chose the

pictures. That's him eating an ice cream. We have lots of pictures of Ashton eating an ice cream

Again, he's probably about, maybe he's two on there. He actually wrote his name with the stickers

on here because he's nearly seven now. So he's writing and reading and everything

And he chose these little stickers to stick around the picture. And this last one is Ashton at the

farm. And again, he's just stuck stickers around it. But it keeps them entertained for a while

and they do enjoy it. Harriet more so than Ashton. So this is Harriet's scrapbook. She's put

something on the front page. She chose a one of her on the farm as well. And she wanted me to write

Harriet the farmer on the bottom. She chose a picture of her eating an ice lolly with a blue

tongue. And she again, decorated this herself without me telling her what to do. And I just

thought that was quite well decorated. She's got some little bees here, some little

unicorns, some crowns. And this one, she also chose the picture. I love this picture. Ashton and Harriet

when you know, probably three years ago, sitting on the doorstep looking into the garden and

they've embellished it with the stickers around there. I mean, that's so cute. And this

you can keep them busy for at least an hour doing that. So if you're looking for something to

entertain your grandchildren, or your young children, then scrapbooking is a really good idea
