Chick Cozy contacted us from a couple of our chicken articles that they saw and asked us if
0:05
we would be interested in reviewing their automatic chicken door. So I told them yes we would and they
0:12
sent it to me and we just got it today. So we're gonna go ahead and open the box and see what we've
0:18
There we go, the Chic Cozy automatic chicken coop door. We've never had a product like this
0:36
we wanted to, especially when it was sleeting and snowing outside, so we're really interested
0:41
to get this installed and we'll give you tips and tricks and show you how we do it
0:48
So if you're going to be installing the Chiccozy automatic chicken door on a coupe like this, a pre-manufactured one, you're going to need to put a 2x4 here or some piece of wood or something to keep the base of the door at least 2 inches away from their litter, higher than their litter
1:10
because, you know, like we've said before, to keep it from getting in the track
1:14
If you don just screw it in here and leave the ramp open If you don want to take up your door to do that you can cut another door somewhere else in the coop and then install it Just be sure to have it two inches above the bottom of the automatic door two inches above the litter
2:17
Thank you Congratulations This is 30 days since we installed our Chick Cozy automatic chicken door and we have been
3:07
real pleased with it. It's worked every time. We haven't had to make any alterations in it
3:14
The battery life on it, if you just mash the OK button, it'll tell you how much battery life is
3:20
left and what time it's going to close. Because the seasons are changing, we've had to alter the
3:27
time of the opening and closing. Really simple to do. So anybody could set it. It runs on daylight
3:35
you can set it for the sensor mode for daylight or you can use the timer as you can see it's gray
3:41
today we have a lot of gray days here in the winter even in the spring we had a lot of rain
3:46
so I opted we opted to do the time set so we set it for right now we've already had to alter it
3:54
again it closes at 8 and opens at 7 and I will have to change it again probably another week
4:00
where it closes at 7 30 at night opens at 7 30 in the morning but it real easy to do a couple of things I want to be sure to share with you before I forget This little tray down here is what the door operates on
4:14
You want to be sure you keep that clean and clear. If the chickens get something down in there or
4:20
you know, keep it two inches. You want it at least two inches above your bottom layer of your litter
4:26
That just keeps anything from getting in there because it has a sensor and if anything's in that track the door won't close
4:34
So say you've got a hen going through right at the last second
4:38
It will sense her and it won't close It'll try three times to close
4:43
And then if it won't it'll just open up and stay open you'll have to close it manually
4:47
And if you want to close it manually you just smash the okay button
4:51
Hold it for three seconds And it'll close I've got somebody on the nest, so I'm going to open it back up
5:01
But to open it, same thing. Mash it. Mash the OK button
5:05
Hold it for three seconds. And it opens. So we've been real pleased with it, and we will highly recommend it
