hey everybody my name is cortland kim
0:05
montgomery and you are with the kirby
0:07
fashionista today we have an amazing
0:11
incredible
0:12
guest
0:13
we have the most loveliest actress from
0:16
ghost cbs mrs danielle pinock hello
0:20
hello
0:21
how's it going
0:22
it's going well it's going well
0:25
yes happy tuesday happy tuesday thank
0:28
you so much for having me and thank you
0:30
so so much for coming here and being
0:32
with us today everybody absolutely loves
0:34
you and we are so excited to chat with
0:37
you today you ready to talk
0:39
i'm ready i'm ready let's do it perfect
0:42
question one your hilarious portrayal as
0:45
alberta on ghost cbs has received so
0:48
much critical acclaim and rightfully so
0:51
how has this journey been for you with
0:53
bringing this colorful yet
0:55
scene-stealing character to life oh my
0:57
gosh first of all it has been a dream
1:00
come true
1:01
to literally book this role in the
1:03
middle of a global pandemic and for us
1:05
to be on set working i'm literally
1:08
working with the best ensemble on the
1:09
planet earth it just feels surreal so
1:12
i'm so honored to be bringing life to
1:14
alberta she is dynamic she is truly a
1:18
hot mess she's sometimes out of pocket
1:21
oh my goodness
1:23
she is hilarious you
1:25
she's everybody like literally like this
1:27
is everybody's auntie she's like a girl
1:30
she literally is a grandmother from the
1:31
1920s
1:34
but i just i think she's so brilliant
1:36
and she's has not only just so much ego
1:39
but she really truly believes in herself
1:41
she has so much confidence and it feels
1:43
so good as a plus-sized black woman to
1:45
be playing somebody this beautiful and
1:48
this effervescent like i just feel so
1:50
honored to be in this role
1:52
absolutely i love that for you question
1:55
number two
1:56
as a plus sized actress
1:58
how has your experience been when it
2:00
comes to the costume styling portion of
2:02
your career
2:04
oh you know it's actually been quite a
2:05
journey um
2:07
[Music]
2:09
but particularly in uh tv and film i
2:12
would say because a lot of times for
2:13
theater you know you just do your
2:14
measurements or like the theater that i
2:16
was doing it's like you kind of just
2:17
bring your own costumes a lot of the
2:20
times but i feel like um for black
2:22
people in general
2:24
um whether it comes to costume styling
2:26
makeup i mean we've been giving each
2:28
other tips like the underground
2:29
railroads and
2:30
for
2:31
years in the industry whether it's like
2:33
sis make sure you bring your girl girl
2:35
make sure you bring your foundation you
2:36
know what i mean like yeah and these are
2:38
just tips that have really truly
2:39
transcended time and i feel like a lot
2:42
of times um earlier on in my career i
2:44
was bringing my own outfits because
2:46
anything that was over a size 16 it was
2:49
just kind of like
2:51
hey do you have tights or uh what brands
2:55
do you
2:56
have
2:57
you know so it was just always like you
2:59
know eloquent taured you know back then
3:02
like anthropology didn't have a plus
3:04
size section back then like there it was
3:06
very very limited yeah i would always
3:09
just uh figure out what to do but i have
3:12
to give a huge shout out to my aunt
3:14
marcia johnson who um
3:17
was the first kind of plus size style
3:20
icon that i had in my family and
3:23
she
3:24
as as a teenager before i went out to
3:26
college she was like we need to teach
3:27
you how to dress because my grandmother
3:30
had me in these three-piece steve harvey
3:32
suits going to school and i looked crazy
3:36
you know what i mean it's just it's the
3:38
typical
3:39
plus-sized kids struggle you know
3:41
burlington coat factory that was the jam
3:44
oh the burlington coat factory was the
3:46
place
3:47
i just looked like a grown like maxine
3:49
waters love child like i just
3:52
extremely grown all the time cardigans
3:55
and covered and not you know like it was
3:57
all those things so i never really got
3:59
to explore
4:00
style when i was growing up and it
4:02
wasn't until my aunt was like no says
4:04
you're not going to college like this
4:05
and she took me to my uh first
4:07
plus-sized store i think in brooklyn
4:08
called lee lee belize um i don't know if
4:10
they're there anymore but like it was i
4:14
felt like i was walking into euphoria i
4:15
was like oh my god they they go up
4:18
larger than the 13 like they have
4:20
additional sizes here and they have
4:23
swimsuits and what is peplum oh my gosh
4:27
leather cap
4:28
i just my world expanded so
4:31
because of her guidance in my life with
4:34
style i was able
4:36
very you like throughout my college
4:38
years to redeem my redeem my high school
4:40
years when i was looking crazy um so
4:43
anytime i would have to come to scent i
4:45
always had something cute i was like as
4:47
long as i look cute
4:49
that's all that matters and i'm so
4:50
grateful for
4:52
ghosts because this costume is
4:54
custom-made for me yeah like a delicious
4:58
crush velvet ensemble giving 1920s
5:02
realness and gorgeous on you it fits
5:04
like a well we know it's custom now
5:06
because it does fit like you like a
5:07
dream it's absolutely stunning i feel so
5:11
beautiful in it um
5:13
and they i mean those pieces are from
5:15
all around the world the shoes are from
5:16
spain you know what i mean like they've
5:18
gotten like the material from england
5:19
like there were so many different facets
5:21
and how that costume was made so shout
5:23
out to the wardrobe department for
5:25
making me feel so beautiful every
5:26
episode they they truly kill it that
5:29
makes me so happy for you because like
5:31
you said it is a journey but now you're
5:33
at a space where you can walk in you
5:35
know you're gonna look
5:36
like that [ __ ] and just like walk in
5:38
and just do what you need to do a
5:40
pandemic too listen we all gained our
5:42
little quarantine momentum okay let's
5:44
talk about it because we just had that
5:45
chat about that at the soul train awards
5:48
and i get it like i was just like oh
5:49
gosh but they really have made me feel
5:51
so beautiful and i i'm i'm excited for
5:54
girls that look like me to see me and be
5:56
like okay you know what that's the
5:57
representation that we have we can do
5:58
this too exactly no i i can only imagine
6:02
i bet you the little girls see you and
6:03
they're
6:04
like it's a queen
6:06
that's me i see me and that has to be so
6:10
amazing and just like you i hope that
6:12
you're so proud seriously that's
6:13
fantastic gratifying i mean there are so
6:16
many people that i used to look up to uh
6:18
octavia spencer being one of them redda
6:21
um even you know some of my closest
6:23
friends that are curvy um latifah holder
6:26
who's been in so many shows disjointed
6:28
modern family my very dear friend devine
6:30
joy randolph um and like also even like
6:33
melissa mccarthy you know i mean like
6:35
these are just women that i saw and
6:37
seeing them do it i believe that i can
6:39
do it so i hope that i can be that for
6:40
somebody too
6:42
of course absolutely oh that fills my
6:44
heart with joy
6:46
question three if you were given the
6:49
opportunity to design your own clothing
6:51
line collaboration
6:53
who would it be with
6:55
and why
6:56
listen
6:57
that's a good question okay
7:01
my dream pairing
7:02
would be diara blue who i'm actually
7:05
currently wearing right now okay
7:07
phenomenal clothing everybody check them
7:11
out they are fantastic they have plus
7:13
sizes and extended sizes like they are
7:16
just the bomb the the outfits they're
7:18
all custom like she's utterly fantastic
7:22
i would love a diara blue and an aloque
7:25
pairing
7:26
because eloquy has always held it down
7:30
for me
7:31
yeah everything i mean like that two-day
7:34
shipping is the bomb.com and like i
7:37
always know that i can look good and
7:39
solid i mean the suits that eloquently
7:41
have like every i just love them so if i
7:43
could get like a diy blue eloque
7:45
danielle pinnock moment that would be a
7:48
dream without question
7:50
oh my goodness i can't wait to see that
7:52
line and i would try to buy that line
7:55
okay like that
7:57
it sounds like it's ready to go already
7:59
we gotta make it happen danielle we
8:00
gotta make it crawls we go man
8:04
oh my goodness number four if you were
8:07
able to star in your dream biopic role
8:10
at this very moment who would you want
8:12
to portray
8:13
and in what way would you deliver said
8:16
performance
8:18
oh my gosh a dream biopic
8:22
mm-hmm if you like if you got the phone
8:24
call right now and he said danielle
8:26
you're playing
8:28
and you just completely passed out from
8:29
just the
8:30
incredibleness of just the whole
8:32
situation to be honest i
8:37
i don't know i i let me think on that
8:40
let me think because i know that there
8:42
are just people that i admire and i love
8:45
so much
8:46
um
8:47
but i i would have to think about that
8:50
that's a that's a that's a good question
8:52
you got me stumped on that but i'm like
8:55
a dream biopic to be honest one of my
8:57
dream worlds is to be is to play a
8:59
disney villain
9:02
that counts yeah i i mean my dream role
9:05
is to be a disney villain in real time i
9:07
mean ursula is is my girl you know i
9:10
would love to do her like how they did
9:13
corella where it was like a um a
9:14
pre-story uh to like who she was uh if
9:19
ursula could be black
9:21
oh my god
9:23
oh my god no okay so give me okay so
9:25
give me a little clip of that so like if
9:26
you were to be if you were to play
9:28
ursula right now
9:29
be like and i'm kind of like i'm
9:31
wondering i'm like let's talk about sis
9:34
though like so she's in the water she's
9:36
half woman but she's also octopus like
9:39
how did we get here you know what i mean
9:41
like i want to know like
9:44
was she on the ship was she on a cruise
9:46
ship and then fell in like
9:48
awesome and jetson come in like there's
9:50
just so many questions
9:52
because we never gave a girl a back
9:53
story now she's just tried
9:56
yeah they she just pulled up and caused
9:58
chaos no nothing nothing literally but
10:00
it's like why
10:02
you know i think that's the thing and i
10:04
love how disney is like doing these
10:06
backstories and all these incredible
10:07
villains like maleficent and cruella and
10:11
i think ursula without question needs a
10:14
backstory in real time i gotta know more
10:17
wow
10:18
because i feel like the like the villain
10:20
story is just way more interesting than
10:23
the hero it's just
10:24
it is it just
10:27
to me yeah because there's like
10:28
something that's like interesting about
10:29
the darkness but then there's got to be
10:31
that layer of like the understanding of
10:33
why
10:34
they are the way they are because you we
10:36
both know ursula has a reason to be oh
10:38
yeah there's a reason why she's stealing
10:40
all these voices like what's going on
10:43
see
10:44
yes the bottom of it
10:47
you know what we have to do now right we
10:48
have to call disney like immediately
10:50
after this and then we just have to get
10:52
people on the phone and just listen i'll
10:54
write the email disney and intern disney
10:58
sign me up now let's pull up the
11:01
entrance
11:01
[Laughter]
11:04
sign me up i'm interested and available
11:06
for the role that i'm making up and
11:07
creating corrections
11:10
here's my headstarter resume
11:12
you and me we're going to make it happen
11:14
for you i promise
11:15
[Laughter]
11:18
oh my goodness
11:20
question five hashtag booked isn't it is
11:22
the incredibly refreshing yet successful
11:25
actor-based instagram account that you
11:27
share alongside actress lanissa
11:29
frederick how did hashtag book
11:31
originally come into fruition and
11:33
expanded into the talk show intermission
11:35
that you also share together yes
11:37
absolutely so we leniency and i met in
11:39
2013 um we were both under studies at
11:42
the goodman theater and we were in a
11:44
basement eight days a week eight shows a
11:46
week um and we got very close because we
11:49
just never knew when we were going to be
11:50
on stage so we were often waiting in the
11:52
wings for our chance and i think a lot
11:54
of hashtag books started there without
11:56
us even knowing um and then when we both
11:59
moved to los angeles in like 2017
12:02
we were so tired of being in
12:06
audition waiting rooms because like
12:09
you know acting in la is like the act
12:11
it's like the acting olympics like you
12:14
are there with the best of the best and
12:15
you're also there with like so i could
12:17
be in an audition room with like half of
12:19
the cast of living single and then like
12:21
somebody who has 2 million followers
12:24
on instagram and you're kind of like
12:26
where is the rhyming reason there's none
12:28
you know like we wanted to talk about
12:31
those experiences
12:33
um and all of the things that we've kept
12:35
sacred as black actors over the last few
12:38
years you know in the decade plus i've
12:39
been we've been working so we created
12:42
these sketches and they went viral and
12:44
my still to this day my favorite one is
12:46
us going in for the one black handmade
12:48
rule
12:49
and like so many people identify with it
12:52
because they're like wow i feel seen
12:53
like i've gone through these experiences
12:55
as well too
12:56
um and then last year in the pandemic we
12:59
went viral for um and i take
13:01
responsibility spoof on all of those
13:04
caucasian actors who lovely you know did
13:07
uh you know their public service
13:09
announcement and we're like you know we
13:10
kind of want to do a little our little
13:11
version of that too
13:13
but um
13:14
it's been it's been probably one of the
13:16
biggest pride and joys of my life
13:18
creating content with she's not even a
13:21
best friend she's a she's family you
13:23
know what i mean like we get it and it's
13:24
very odd when you can just gel with
13:27
somebody and improv with them and we
13:30
laugh until we're crying often this is
13:32
my business partner she we are
13:34
trademarked do you know what i mean like
13:37
we're doing all the steps that we need
13:38
to do to make this become a television
13:40
series because we do feel like there is
13:43
life in that like it can't just be
13:45
the broad cities of the world we need
13:47
two black women telling this story you
13:50
know what i mean like we knew what is
13:52
the broad city like what is broad city
13:54
for two girls that are auditioning for
13:55
slave number three like what
14:01
what does is world look like really you
14:03
know what i mean like and like the
14:05
backstories of like having to pay for
14:07
sallie mae and not having enough money
14:09
and living together and being broke and
14:11
like still trying to pursue your dreams
14:13
and like you know in a gig economy like
14:15
those are stories that are important to
14:17
me i've never quite seen
14:19
my story told like this before usually
14:21
it's from a perspective of a man you
14:23
know i mean he shows like date a white
14:25
man usually dave do you know what i mean
14:28
entourage the other two you know and
14:31
shout out to robert townsend with
14:32
hollywood shuffle but like we need the
14:34
black woman's perspective what's going
14:36
on there so
14:38
it's like
14:39
it's important they're missing they're
14:41
missing the mark for sure because like
14:43
like like what you just said i feel like
14:44
a show about just like the process of
14:47
being a black actress in hollywood
14:49
that's what we have not seen at all
14:51
because we there's way more that goes
14:53
into it
14:54
than what they're full like claim there
14:56
is
14:57
there's so and it i mean and at the end
14:59
of the day it's so many shenanigans too
15:01
from like
15:02
getting headshots you know like just
15:05
having to style yourself for headshots
15:08
and like okay what i remember when how
15:09
to get away with murder came out
15:11
everybody needed a blazer in their head
15:12
shots were we all were [ __ ] biola you
15:15
know we got to get that how to get away
15:16
we need that blazer you know what i mean
15:18
we need the natural hair now because
15:20
they like our natural hair now so now
15:22
everybody's going and getting kinky
15:23
curly wigs i'm screaming
15:26
[Applause]
15:27
it's so many shenanigans that we'd be
15:30
having to go through to pursue our
15:31
dreams and there's so much comedy in
15:33
that as well too so fingers crossed as
15:35
well that um somebody would like to
15:37
develop it
15:38
now yeah no that would that has to that
15:40
has to be that's got to happen because
15:42
that
15:44
fingers crossed
15:48
tick tock is a social media platform
15:50
that you have truly utilized to showcase
15:53
your immensely wide range as an actress
15:56
what is your method when it comes to
15:58
your content creation in that particular
16:00
realm of social media
16:02
um tick tock i got on it for the first
16:05
time uh
16:06
in
16:07
january
16:08
of this year because
16:10
i wanted because because i've been doing
16:12
content with hashtag booked and with
16:13
lisa i wanted to see could i do this on
16:15
my own um and i part of me was very
16:17
scared to do it on my own because we had
16:18
been doing it together for three years
16:20
and i was like uh i don't know who am i
16:22
without my friend
16:24
but um i started off by doing these kind
16:26
of recaps of
16:29
of bridgeton um and a lot of them went
16:32
viral they caught the attention of
16:33
shonda rhimes but just took me out
16:35
because i'm obsessed with her um and
16:37
obsessed with the series and
16:39
i did this whole kind of collection of
16:41
daphne's diaries
16:43
and like in like these 15 to 30 second
16:45
recaps um what her what the episode was
16:49
about and i played all the characters
16:50
from the duke to her to her family and
16:53
all these things and like that inspired
16:56
me to keep going because i realized hey
16:59
it was creating a lot of joy within me
17:01
to make people laugh um and during a
17:04
time when we really needed to laugh in
17:06
this pantheon
17:07
um but also visibility wise i think a
17:10
lot of people were starting to see me as
17:12
the writer that i've always been and um
17:15
the creative that i've always wanted to
17:17
be um i think a lot of times like in
17:19
earlier when i first started my career i
17:20
was getting these kind of like sassy
17:22
truck driver roles or but you don't mean
17:24
like you know disgruntled receptionist
17:26
with no family you know what i mean like
17:28
it was just these kind of very like
17:31
you know stereotypical black roles
17:35
and
17:36
content creating has allowed me to
17:38
create my own legacy outside of
17:41
the white people lens you know what i
17:44
mean i think when i'm able to create my
17:46
own things i think then people can see
17:50
and say okay wait that's actually the
17:52
artist that she wants to be
17:54
um i don't think if i had hashtag booked
17:57
or my own content if i necessarily would
17:59
have been cast in a really quirky
18:02
amazing comedy such as ghosts because
18:04
um all of the things on my reel
18:07
amazing as they are we're kind of
18:09
giving that like
18:12
sassy this you know what i mean sassy
18:14
that but like being able to do my own
18:16
stuff just gives me a whole nother
18:17
dimension and i i think it's absolutely
18:19
helped me in my career and i'm so
18:21
grateful that
18:22
um people are finally starting to take
18:24
note because this is the kind of stupid
18:25
stuff that i've been doing for
18:26
years i've been doing like characters
18:29
for my family i used to i had a
18:30
one-woman show called body courage that
18:32
i was running for five years where i was
18:34
like interviewing people on the street
18:36
and then bringing their stories to the
18:37
stage and um i very much so am obsessed
18:41
with women like anna devere smith or
18:43
sarah jones where they do that
18:45
transformative work um
18:48
whoopi goldberg is another one like she
18:51
my question of my life is what would we
18:54
do
18:55
you know so
18:56
i am honestly so grateful that people
18:58
like the content and they're laughing at
19:00
it and that it's led to opportunities
19:02
like being on ghost i'm truly grateful
19:04
yeah because what it sounds like is that
19:06
tick tock is like giving you like the
19:08
creative freedom to
19:10
do the things that you know that you can
19:12
do but yes hollywood is not particularly
19:15
giving out to like black actresses right
19:17
now does that absolutely okay absolutely
19:20
and honestly i would have to say that
19:21
like social media has really
19:23
it has changed the industry in a very
19:25
real way yeah there are so many content
19:28
creators now that are on television
19:29
shows because
19:31
you know i think a lot of times what
19:32
happens with actors you know trained
19:34
actors which i am one you know i have my
19:36
mfa you know my you know my
19:38
undergraduate degree i've gotten all the
19:40
things
19:41
um
19:42
sometimes trained actors do look down on
19:44
social media creators but and i used to
19:46
be one of those people too like linus
19:47
and i before we started content creating
19:49
we're like oh god another ticket
19:51
youtuber oh god they about to be
19:54
but if you understand the mechanics
19:56
behind creating content these people are
19:59
their own writers they're their own
20:00
actors they're all makeup artists
20:02
they're their own stylists they're their
20:04
own producers they're budgeting do you
20:06
know what i mean what do we need for
20:07
this there's so much that goes into it
20:10
that i don't think a lot of people quite
20:12
understand so obviously somebody that
20:15
has amassed two to 15 million viewers on
20:20
their channel i trust that person yeah
20:23
you know i do trust that person because
20:24
they've done that on their own
20:26
you know just like the things that with
20:29
what they with their network with their
20:31
channel with their stuff they have done
20:33
that and i do trust that person i feel
20:35
like we do need to give these content
20:37
creators a little bit more
20:39
um a little bit more love and we we
20:41
can't look down on them because they're
20:42
doing fantastic work
20:44
absolutely they're literally changing
20:46
the trajectory of what social media is
20:48
in real time it's like yeah it's really
20:50
i i personally love it because it's just
20:52
new terrain so there's so much that we
20:54
can see and it's not like the usual like
20:57
twitter or instagram it's just yeah it's
20:59
different and it's like a free range and
21:02
i love that for us
21:05
brown
21:06
she's incredible like wow
21:08
she's incredible she is like
21:11
literally an angel you know what i mean
21:14
oh my goodness social media has been
21:15
able to come out with books and tv shows
21:18
and
21:18
you know she's doing she's putting her
21:20
family on too you know like that's a
21:23
generational wealth that was created off
21:25
of an app
21:26
and it's
21:27
like that's huge that's dangerous
21:30
you don't mean that's huge so i hope
21:32
that people don't um discount it you
21:35
know and look down upon it and that
21:36
people can see like this is very this is
21:37
a very serious business oh absolutely it
21:40
is lucrative a thousand percent
21:43
question number seven we're going to ask
21:45
you just a little not nothing too
21:47
personable but sure a little personal
21:49
what is your favorite way to prioritize
21:52
joy in your life
21:54
who okay
21:55
um i'm a journaler i take a lot of notes
21:58
so um my biggest way of prioritizing joy
22:03
is making sure that my cup is full
22:05
enough so i can give to others and i
22:09
know that my cup is full enough if
22:11
everything on my task list gets done
22:14
because if the task list is not done
22:18
i cannot give and give and i am such a
22:21
giver like i'm a tourist through and
22:23
through like i'm loyal to a fault i love
22:26
my naps and i love a good snack i mean
22:29
and i'm stubborn like these are these
22:31
are my traits i am the stereotype of a
22:33
tourist but like i cannot
22:36
love my community
22:37
um and do all the things that i want to
22:39
do for my community if my if my glass is
22:41
not full so
22:43
i'm going to and that's not just like oh
22:45
taking you know naps and bubble baths
22:48
those things help but it's also like
22:50
making sure that i'm going to therapy
22:52
you know what i mean it's making sure
22:54
that i see my black lady therapist and
22:56
we get stuff on track you know it's also
22:58
making sure that like my house is in
23:00
order it's making sure that like i'm
23:01
going out for a walk and exercising and
23:03
moving my body and eating well because
23:05
the hours that we're working on set i
23:08
mean like i can't just be out here
23:10
eating like you know what i mean like
23:12
like i have to make sure that like i'm
23:14
nourishing my body in and out so that i
23:16
can withstand
23:18
this athleticism you know because it's
23:24
and a physical athleticism to become and
23:27
be a serious regular on a on a hit show
23:30
so like whatever i need to do to nurture
23:32
myself in that way i got to do it and i
23:35
have to like put myself first sometimes
23:38
before others and i think that's how i'm
23:40
able to culminate joy because
23:41
it's like if my stuff is not together i
23:44
can't give so i think that task list is
23:47
the moment for me always um
23:49
because if you can't if you can't do
23:51
what you need for yourself how can you
23:53
do anything for anybody else no it's
23:54
true and my like the artist in my
23:56
community they know i'm ups they i'm
23:58
obsessed with all of them you know like
23:59
i'm the type of person that like every
24:01
thanksgiving my mother my grandmother
24:03
and i would cook for 100 plus artists in
24:05
la for thanksgiving like that's the type
24:07
of person like i'm the house that
24:09
everybody can go to if they're like
24:10
struggling if they need a word they can
24:12
call me but like if i don't have my rest
24:14
and if i don't have my things in order
24:16
i'm not able to feed back in so
24:19
those are the things that are just very
24:20
very important for me too
24:23
now i feel that that's like that's a
24:25
solid list to me like it's well-rounded
24:27
straight to the point yes it serves you
24:29
it helps to your loved ones like one
24:31
more than you ask for you know yes
24:33
absolutely not much more but the final
24:36
question
24:37
you ready
24:40
about to say my little voice i'm like
24:41
i'm trying to be comedian like you
24:44
come here for it
24:48
maybe one day one day
24:50
at this very moment in your life
24:53
what is your personal definition of
24:55
success and how does that look to you
24:58
in the future times
25:01
you know it's so
25:03
funny because i think
25:07
when i was younger i had such a
25:09
checklist as to
25:11
what it meant to be successful
25:14
and i'm realizing that my definition of
25:17
success has changed um for a very long
25:20
time i thought success was having a ton
25:24
of money having the house having the
25:26
kids being married you know putting you
25:28
know i'm first generation jamaican
25:30
american paying off every my debts and
25:32
everybody else's debts and all of those
25:34
things
25:35
but
25:36
the more that i realize for myself now
25:39
that
25:40
success
25:41
truly is just being able to live in the
25:45
moment yeah
25:46
day to day
25:48
if we can just wake up in the morning
25:50
that's success
25:53
that's what like really
25:55
and like if we can wake up in the
25:56
morning and not cut somebody out of the
25:58
day that's even
26:00
in the middle of a global campaign you
26:02
know me every day this
26:04
every day this pandemic because everyone
26:05
bothers me you know what i mean like if
26:07
we could really just like wake up and
26:09
like
26:10
okay i'm here i'm alive i've made it
26:14
that truly is the definition definition
26:17
of success for me and like all of the
26:19
additional things will come or not or
26:23
not do you know what i mean and being
26:25
okay
26:26
with whatever
26:28
god whoever the universe has in store
26:31
for you
26:32
but just knowing like being present in
26:34
the moment and now is success and i
26:36
think like as a generation we need to
26:38
redefine that because i think we're in
26:40
such a gig culture and like oh we got to
26:43
do this now and no sleep hustle no sleep
26:46
no we got to sleep
26:48
oh my god i'm like
26:49
i love to sleep that's like my favorite
26:51
thing to do okay we need to we need to
26:54
nourish our bodies and we need to rest
26:55
you know what i mean because how are we
26:56
going to
26:57
get our dreams if we're exhausted and
26:59
then when we get the dream we're going
27:01
to be passed out cold there's no way to
27:03
keep that going you know what i mean so
27:06
it's just like it's truly is living in
27:07
the here living in the now making sure
27:09
that like my family's okay making sure
27:12
that i'm spending time with my family
27:14
like i love working so much i like for a
27:18
very long time was a workaholic you know
27:20
what i mean but that's not important to
27:22
me anymore what's important to me is
27:23
like i have enough coin to take care of
27:25
who i need to take care of and i can
27:27
spend the time with the people that
27:28
matter because when they're gone and
27:30
when i'm gone june and i mean like what
27:33
is the legacy that i want to lead is the
27:35
thing of like oh my gosh she was amazing
27:38
she was working
27:40
or is it she loved on her loved ones
27:43
while she was doing all these amazing
27:45
things too i think it's a ladder for me
27:47
of course
27:49
absolutely
27:50
so that's it
27:52
wow wonderful wonderful way to end the
27:55
interview danielle thank you
27:57
so much thank you
27:59

28:00

28:02
just phenomenal and i'm so thankful to
28:05
spend this day with you oh my goodness
