Title: Classic Green Tea Introduction: Green tea is one of the healthiest beverages available, known for its fresh, grassy flavor and numerous health benefits. Originating in China and Japan, green tea is minimally processed, which preserves its natural antioxidants and nutrients. It’s an excellent choice for boosting metabolism, improving brain function, and promoting heart health. With its light, refreshing taste, green tea is the perfect drink for any time of day. Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of loose green tea leaves (or 1 green tea bag) 1 cup of filtered water Optional: lemon slice or honey for added flavor How to Cook: Begin by boiling 1 cup of water. Once it reaches a boil, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly for about 1 minute. Green tea is best brewed with water around 175°F (80°C) to prevent bitterness. Place the loose green tea leaves in a tea infuser or use a tea bag. Put it in your cup or teapot. Pour the hot water over the tea leaves and let it steep for 2-3 minutes. Steeping too long can make the tea taste overly bitter, so keep it brief. After steeping, remove the tea leaves or tea bag from the water. If desired, add a slice of lemon or a teaspoon of honey to sweeten the tea slightly. Enjoy your green tea hot or let it cool and serve it over ice for a chilled version. Cooking Tips: Avoid using boiling water as it can scorch the tea leaves, resulting in a bitter flavor. Let the water cool for about 1 minute after boiling. For a more intense flavor, use slightly more tea leaves rather than extending the steeping time.
