So this is my current laptop stand. This is my main one I use. But the only issue with this is
0:06
that when I fold it down, it still takes up a decent amount of space, kind of like a textbook
0:11
and I wanted something a little bit more portable, which is why I got this stand instead. So this
0:16
one's going to fold a lot more, kind of like a water bottle. And here you can see the space it
0:20
takes up. So I'm excited to take a look at this and give my first impressions of it. All right
0:24
so opening this right up, first thing I see on top is going to be the user manual. And right under
0:29
that we're going to have this card that shows how to use this followed by a QR code for the warranty
0:35
We're going to have the stand and then right underneath is going to be an Allen wrench. I'm
0:39
guessing this is going to be to tighten or to loosen this up. And then here's the stand itself
0:44
Oh, this is good. It also comes with some sort of baggie just so this doesn't scratch up anywhere
0:50
you want to store it. In my case, this is going to go in my backpack. So before opening this up
0:54
I want to go over some specifications. So starting with the measurements, this is going to be roughly
0:59
11 3 8 inch long, 2 3 8 inches wide, 1 7 8 inch height
1:06
All right, and this thing feels pretty hefty too, so I think it has a pretty good weight to it
1:10
So I also want to see how heavy this is. And this is going to be 750 grams
1:15
So this looks and feels pretty sturdy It got a good solid weight to it and also does have some protection around So we have the rubber grips This is going to be for the bottom and for the top
1:25
So the laptop's not going to get scratched against this metal. And up here, these also can be faced upwards
1:32
And this is basically where the laptop bottom is going to rest to prevent it from sliding all the way down
1:37
And now to open this up, the feet can just be pulled apart like this
1:41
and then the top part like that as well. and we get this thing right here
1:46
And now to open this up further, this can just be pulled up. And this is actually pretty strong
1:54
so you do need a good amount of force to open it. Yeah, here's an overhead shot
1:59
One thing I'm noticing too is that these little feet can also be moved around. So depending on the angle I put this in
2:05
you know, I can find the right orientation. So in this case, I'm going to have it as wide as possible
2:09
And oh, these also move out too, so that's pretty cool. And you know what, I'll leave these stickers on there for now, it's fine
2:16
It's not going to do any damage to my MacBook. And this goes right there
2:21
All right, so here's what we get. This looks really cool. A lot different than my other laptop stands
2:27
And of course, because of that 360, I can just swivel this around
2:32
And now as far as height goes this is going to be about 5 inches from the front and about 9 inches from the back But I think this can also be risen up higher So let me try to do that And yeah this is going to be much
2:49
much higher. So from here, it's going to be eight inches. And then from the back
2:55
over a foot. So about 12 and a half inches or so. And this is just looking at it, this is going to
3:01
be way too high for me. I would never have it this high up because it's just going to feel
3:05
uncomfortable. So if I face it here. Oh, actually, you know what? I'll take that back. I actually
3:14
might have it this high up if I really want to be as straight as possible. But I mean
3:18
in this current position, this might be a little bit too high up. I feel myself looking upwards a
3:22
little bit. So the thing I could do is adjust my chair, have it a little bit higher up. Now
3:27
as far as safety wise goes, I'm not sure how secure this is. But if I like push the base
3:31
Yeah, it doesn't seem but I think I can close this. Yeah
3:39
If I push the right leg, this can close and if I go all the way, of course, this isn't
3:44
going to be very stable like this and it'll topple over. So let me open that back up and moving this 360
3:51
Yeah, this feels fine. It feels weird because again I never had a laptop stand that like this But the grips definitely are doing a good job for it
4:07
As I move it, I'm using the laptop, the MacBook to push all the way around, and it doesn't seem to be slipping out of place. So the rubber grips at the bottom
4:15
or the back right over here, and then right over here are doing a good job
4:19
and then when it's time to put this away these can be angled upwards and then pushed back in
4:28
this can be pushed in pushed in and then pushed in oh i think i closed it the wrong way oh and these pushed in there and again this feels very strong i
4:46
I do have to put a good amount of pressure into this. And then finally, the storage case. Just like that
4:53
So not only is this new laptop stand going to be lighter than my current one, but it's also going to have a much smaller footprint
4:59
Now, as far as height goes, if we take these parts into consideration of this laptop stand
5:04
yeah, they're going to be nearly identical. And if we go on the other side where it's just flat
5:08
then yeah, of course, this new one is going to be just a little bit higher. But because it doesn't take up that full width
5:13
it's going to be a lot easier to store my bag rather than this one. But yeah, that's a quick look at the laptop stand
