No matter how safe of a driver you are, there's always something that could happen
0:03
And if something does happen, then you're going to want proof. And that's where a dash cam comes in
0:07
So today I'm taking a look at this Lingdu LD-06 dash cam. Now Lingdu went ahead and sent this to me, so I just want to give my first impressions of this
0:14
So the top slides right out. And right here we're going to have two different sections. At the bottom is going to be the dash cam itself
0:20
And here's a quick sneak peek of it. And right underneath that we can go ahead and lift this box up
0:24
And there's going to be a bunch of accessories in here. We have the user manual, the car charger, a 12-foot USB-C power cable, a double-sided adhesive, a pry tool, five cable clips, and two electrostatic films
0:36
Now, before mounting and testing out the dash cam, I just want to show you guys around this dash cam because, for starters, it looks really, really nice
0:43
Now, I know looks don't really matter in a dash cam because it's going to be hidden, but it's nice that LingDude didn't go ahead and skimp out on the design
0:50
And this is pretty small, and it actually goes ahead and reminds me of what my portable charger looks like
0:54
now taking a look at the front we're going to have the big camera and then right here is going to be
0:58
the logo Lingdu up top is going to be the sticker mount and so if you will go ahead and change cars
1:04
and this isn't sticky anymore it's good that you do have an extra one it comes with and right here
1:08
is going to be the hinge so you can go ahead and tilt it and get the right angle and when we took
1:13
a look at the left side there's going to be two things it's going to be the USB-C power cable
1:17
and an SD card slot a micro SD card slot which it does come with one already which is very generous
1:22
so I can just go ahead and take it out and here we can see this one's going to be 64 gigabytes
1:27
and you do need a nail to go ahead and push this in and there it sticks in place now taking a look
1:33
at the right side there's going to be nothing and now on the back side there's going to be a bit
1:37
more information on the unit itself and then down over here we can go ahead and see kind of like the
1:43
saying it says specialty leads future and then on the left side there's going to be two little
1:49
indicators and now this is going to be for the light. On the left side is going to be the blue
1:53
indicator light and on the right side is going to be the red indicator light. And finally taking a
1:58
look at the bottom there's going to be a little hole for a reset button and a function key. So
2:02
since this dash cam doesn't have a screen then it's okay to go ahead and install it right over
2:06
here behind the mirror. And also make sure it's at a good angle over here so the camera doesn't
2:09
accidentally go ahead and record this black part here. So you can take the adhesive right off
2:14
make sure the windshield is clean, and then go ahead and stick it on. And now if you ever want take this dash cam off you can just go ahead and slide it to the left and it easiest if you put your finger right over here and push all right so now it time to attach the cable And there going to be two ways The first way is going to be the easiest one Just attach it here and then attach it down here
2:31
But it's going to look ugly because it's going to be hanging up and down. So the clean way would be to go ahead and just put it right through up all the way over here
2:39
And then slide it all the way to the bottom. All the way underneath here. And so it's going to be nicely tucked in here
2:44
And the cable is not going to be in the way. So I'm going to start by attaching the USB-C cable over here
2:48
just so I know exactly how much slack to give. And then we can go ahead and grab the pry tool to go
2:52
ahead and slide the cable up through here. So the easiest way to start is with the curved portion
2:57
Go ahead and stick it in here. And then for the wire, go ahead and do a loop kind of like this
3:02
and make sure you give it enough slack. It's not too long. It's not too loose. And then just push
3:06
this upwards and then insert this here as close to the pry tool as possible. And it goes and sticks
3:11
right in place. And you can push with your fingers a little bit or with the tool. And there now it's
3:18
nice and hidden on the right side. So now we'll do the same thing to over here. And the easiest way
3:22
is just to have the pry tool lifted up and then slide your hand all the way to the left while
3:26
pushing the wire inside. And when you get to the part that meets the plastic, just go ahead and
3:30
lift it up and make sure it gets right inside here. And just try to get it underneath this
3:38
portion here by pushing it more. And right now I went ahead and flipped the tool over so I can go
3:43
ahead and push the tool inside this section over here and then keep
3:47
continuing down the bottom and then when you get to the corner you can go
3:56
ahead and lift this up and just push it inside and then use the tool to push it
4:01
further in and then keep doing that all the way down so now we can go all the
4:05
way back up and then fix this part. So we're almost there and you could go ahead and do it the lazy
4:18
way and just put it over here and put it through here but don't do that just because last time I
4:22
did that with my other dash cam the wire kept getting loose and I ended up breaking it. So the
4:27
easiest way to avoid this is by using these clips underneath over here. So just find a solid place
4:31
to put these cable clips and in my case it's going to be right over here at the hinge at the glove compartment
4:35
just because when I open the glove compartment this part isn't going to go ahead and move too much
4:39
versus if I put it over here and there and then go ahead and give it a push there and the cable locked in place and then do the same thing for the other side and I can stick the wire right over here and go ahead and give it a push and just continue tucking the wire inside here and so it pretty loose over here
4:56
so what I want to go ahead and do is just grab it like this and kind of push it upwards
5:02
and I can go ahead and hide as much slack in there as possible
5:12
And there, now that that's done, now this can just be plugged in over here
5:19
And time to check the camera out. Alright, so now you can go ahead and turn on the car and the dash cam should go ahead
5:24
and automatically turn on. And there it just told me regular formatting reminder and it's currently recording started
5:36
So I went ahead and downloaded the LingDoo app and then this went ahead and popped up
5:39
So I can go ahead and connect to the camera. All joints
