You're waved
0:03
Judson Tario's wire. I mean, you and you
0:06
and Gio really showed a strong
0:09
connection tonight. Caught both of his
0:10
touchdown passes. Really seemed to be a
0:13
good spark in the passing game. Talk
0:16
talk about y'all's chemistry and how
0:18
that was such a crucial role in the in
0:21
the victory tonight.
0:23
Um, I feel like the biggest thing with
0:24
us is just trust. You know, I trust him,
0:26
he trusts me. Like there's times in
0:27
practice where like he throws me some
0:28
balls that maybe he shouldn't
0:30
technically throw, but he just trusts
0:31
me. I'm able to go make plays for him.
0:32
And I feel that really starts with just
0:34
like our connection off the field, you
0:35
know? That's like one of my closest
0:36
friends, one of my best friends. Like I
0:38
talked to him the most. My family knows
0:39
his family. I talked to his family this
0:41
last night in the hotel. You know, I
0:42
spent some time down there with him and
0:44
um was able just to chop it up with them
0:45
and that's like that's like a brother to
0:47
me. So I know he wouldn't put me in any
0:48
bad uh predicaments or situations. So I
0:50
know if the ball's in the air, he's
0:52
trusted me to go get it. And I feel like
0:53
if I let him down, I'll be letting him
0:55
down. and also the rest of like the UNCC
0:56
family. So feel like our connection is
0:58
really like a lot deeper than football.
1:01
No. Hey, no, it's about to go 24/7
1:03
though. Coach Bich and Gio both sort of
1:05
said that you can they feel like you can
1:07
do everything on the field. There's not
1:08
just one thing you can kind of do it
1:09
all. How comfortable and confident
1:11
especially compared to last year? Like
1:13
how comfortable do you feel now when you
1:15
step out there every play and being able
1:16
to do what you do?
1:17
Uh first off that come from Belich that
1:20
means a lot Gio too. Like just the fact
1:22
I feel like the biggest one of the
1:23
bigger things for me was really just
1:25
like my preparation. Like I feel like
1:26
I've been working so hard. So not even
1:28
just me, just like us like as a team.
1:29
We've worked so hard from January. It's
1:31
like we go out there and it's like the
1:33
preparation that we had. Like Coach
1:34
McGee keeps us really prepared with like
1:36
the small indicators of coverages and
1:37
stuff like that. And I feel like we see
1:39
it so much in practice and it the
1:40
coaches do a great job of really putting
1:41
it out in front of us. Like we'll have
1:43
practices where they'll like wear their
1:44
number like the people's numbers and
1:46
stuff like that. So we're used to seeing
1:47
them in different spots and stuff. So
1:49
just all that recognition and stuff I
1:50
feel like the preparation that they pour
1:52
into us is really like the key to my
1:54
success and really like you have a coach
1:55
like coach Bichc coach McGee uh coach
1:57
Lombardi you know coach means coach
1:59
friend like the whole offensive staff
2:00
and then Bellich check on top of that
2:01
it's just like they put you're going to
2:03
put you in a place to succeed. So I feel
2:06
like with them like all my success is
2:07
just the hard work and really just
2:09
everything that they poured into me and
2:11
um coach I appreciate that and I
2:13
appreciate that. Michael,
2:15
hey there, Jordan. Uh, what does the
2:17
turnaround process look like uh in the
2:20
next couple days? You know, all due
2:22
respect to Richmond, but at UCF next
2:23
week, it's going to be like a step up in
2:25
competition. So, how long do you let
2:27
yourself feel good about this home
2:28
before uh getting American nights?
2:30
Uh, I mean, we're going to go home. I
2:32
know a lot of boys won't go home. We all
2:33
play a game together, go home, get on
2:34
2K. Uh, most of us go to church in the
2:36
morning and we're right back Sunday,
2:38
right back tomorrow. And then every uh
2:40
tomorrow, we'll watch the tape, wrap it
2:41
up, and then we'll have another meeting
2:42
and just an intro to UCF. So, I mean, I
2:45
feel like it's more it's not really I
2:46
wouldn't look down upon UCF. I mean, not
2:48
UCF, uh, Richmond. I mean, I feel like
2:50
the score didn't show how tough of a
2:51
team they were. Uh, Richmond was
2:53
definitely a very tough team. Uh, they
2:54
played physical, you know, they're very
2:56
fundamentally sound team and, um, they
2:58
didn't make a lot of mistakes. We just
2:59
went out there and played just a more
3:00
better game, you know. So, I mean, I
3:02
feel I wouldn't look down on them at
3:03
all. But then you look at UCF. UCF has
3:05
great talent, uh, great coaching. I know
3:06
a couple of the boys over there and it
3:08
was going to be a good game. So, like I
3:10
said, just sleep on it tonight, go to
3:12
church in the morning, right back at it
3:14
tomorrow.
3:15
Brian,
3:16
yeah, Jordan, two quick ones. Uh, this
3:18
week, Coach McGee said that you're
3:20
they're looking for dependable players
3:22
and counting you as one of the the most
3:24
dependable. What does that mean in the
3:26
context of this program? When they say
3:28
you're dependable,
3:29
um, this program is built off being
3:31
tough, smart, and dependable. And, um, I
3:32
feel like that's all that's also
3:34
something that my high school we kind of
3:35
like focus on is being tough, smart,
3:36
dependable. and um that I feel like uh
3:39
my high school did a great job in like
3:40
shaping me in that way just to be uh be
3:42
tough, understand everything, know every
3:44
position and um just making those plays
3:46
on third and fourth down when it need to
3:47
be made, you know. So, I mean, I feel
3:49
like that's something I really try and
3:50
like pride myself on. And then you get
3:51
here and that's something where the
3:53
great one of the greatest coach of all
3:54
time is telling you he wants you to be
3:55
tough, smart, dependable. That's just
3:56
what you got to do. So, I feel like to
3:58
me it's just important just knowing that
4:00
uh my teammate can rely on my team can
4:02
rely on me to know I'm going to be in
4:03
the right spot, make the plays, make the
4:05
catch. It might even be a catch. I might
4:06
need to pick up a block for like um Guju
4:09
to go score, Ben, Bullet, you know, um
4:12
like a little bubble screen, anything
4:13
like that. Just knowing what to do, how
4:15
to do it, and doing it consistently is
4:16
also like just the biggest thing.
4:18
And then Gio talked about TCU being a
4:20
wakeup call. Did you get the sense in
4:21
the locker room among your teammates
4:23
that that that was something of a wakeup
4:24
call?
4:25
Yeah, for sure. You you get embarrassed
4:26
on national television. That's that's
4:28
going to leave a bad taste in your mouth
4:29
for the rest of the season. Like I mean,
4:31
I don't feel like we're still over. I
4:32
feel like of course like we flushed his
4:34
passes and everything like that. But
4:35
that's something that like all right
4:37
like these were two good wins back to
4:38
back. Let's not forget what happened
4:39
when we kind of like let our guard down,
4:41
you know. So I feel like that's
4:42
something that you know like it's good.
4:44
I feel like it's good that we had that
4:45
and we have it early. You know, you
4:46
rather get um you rather get the breaks
4:48
beat off you early than late in the
4:49
season, you know. Now we can get that
4:50
confidence going. Just keep going up and
4:52
up every week.
4:54
Jeremiah.
4:54
Hey Jordan. Jeremiah toss on that side.
4:57
probably compared yourself to still
4:58
early the season for us, but what are
5:00
some things that you've done compared to
5:02
last season to this season over the
5:03
offseason that's helped me prepare for
5:05
games such as this week scores and
5:06
touchdowns?
5:07
Um, coach Moses, the weight room, the
5:09
conditioning, the speed training that
5:11
we're doing. Um, Coach Mo does a great
5:13
job and just like I feel like my body's
5:14
changed over like this whole last time
5:17
we did our Dexa scan, I put on I think
5:18
it was like 14 15 pounds of muscle in
5:21
like the LA like a 3 four month span.
5:23
Like the stuff that Coach Moses is doing
5:24
and Amber's doing for us is amazing. And
5:26
I mean my my transition like my body
5:29
transformation wasn't even the biggest
5:30
one. Like we had guys that were really
5:31
putting on like 17 18 pounds of muscle.
5:34
And it's just like the way that coach Mo
5:36
came in and really just told us this is
5:37
how it's going to be. This is what we're
5:38
going to do. And we all bought into it.
5:40
So I mean I feel like that's the biggest
5:41
thing for all of us. And um we're just
5:43
all getting bigger, faster, stronger.
5:44
And also coach Bill stressing the uh
5:46
test smart dependable. So those are all
5:48
things that we're just focusing on and
5:49
trying to build off of.
5:51
Time for one or two more. Let's go to
5:52
Shelby. She'll be producing super
5:54
curious just from your perspective. What
5:56
impressed you the most about Juju
5:58
performance?
5:58
Man, I'm so proud of Juju. I told him
6:02
this uh I told him this during right
6:04
there. Yeah, he's over there. I told him
6:05
I'm I'm proud. He just, you know, like
6:08
coming in like we had Bullet was a great
6:09
returning back. Ben Hall was a great
6:11
back in Michigan, transferred in. Uh
6:12
Hoodie was a great back, but then you
6:14
have a freshman like Juju that's able to
6:16
come in and make plays like that. And I
6:17
told him um after one of his long runs,
6:20
I was like, "Yeah, you got hog." you
6:21
know, he got walked down, but I was
6:23
like, "Man, I'm proud of you, man."
6:24
Like, that that's a great game. You
6:26
know, like the stuff that he's doing,
6:27
the work that he's put in, like that's
6:29
not overseen by anybody. He's put in a
6:31
lot of work. His body's changed a lot.
6:32
He's really came in and bought into the
6:34
program. So, I don't feel like to none
6:35
of us it's a surprise. Like, it was just
6:37
a matter of when it's going to happen.
6:38
And last one for Adam Ship. Did you have
6:40
a little bit of a point today because
6:43
the other class in Charlotte didn't see
6:45
the ball as much as you might might have
6:48
would like it seemed like. I mean, was
6:49
there any extra motivation coming into
6:51
this today after the game at Charlotte?
6:53
No. Uh, not at all.
6:55
Not at all. I'm I'm I'm just happy we
6:57
won. You know, right away with the win
6:58
at Charlotte, I could have had no
7:00
catches. I feel like I could have played
7:01
a key game uh key part in the blocking
7:03
game. You know, whatever my team needs
7:04
me to do, that's what I'm going to do.
7:05
And I feel like that plays into the
7:06
tough, smart, dependable. You know,
7:08
every week you're not going to get 10,
7:10
12 balls. That's just playing receiver,
7:11
you know. So, I mean, that's nothing I'm
7:13
dwelling on. It definitely didn't happen
7:14
on purpose. The ball just didn't come my
7:16
way. Things happen. Move on. Just make
7:17
plays when you get the opportunity to,
7:18
you know, just next play mentality.
7:20
That's all it is.
7:21
Perfect. Good stuff to
7:22
appreciate you.
