um for the Jazz studies program I was

learn about this style and I realized

just how beautiful it is and how like

in the similar way like I love uh I

guess acoustic performance like listen

it was like either go to school like

like my mom said or if you take a break

um so when I got there my only focus was

learning all that I could about that

because I was starting from zero I felt

like not really from zero because I had

you know vocal influences going in but

related to Jazz vocal you know uh the

style of it you're getting the sound

because I already had the sound of

gospel the sound of you know all of

these different genres in my ear but I

didn't know what Jazz sounded like

um so my only focus was immersing myself

in it as much as possible and the career

thing it just kind of it just happened

as I as I continued to grow and like you

know make connections with people and

always had this um this this stigma to

it about you know substance abuse right

a lot of jazz artists in the past

um have experienced that some of the
