US: NASA launches Roman Space Telescope from Florida.

MOMENTS OF LAUNCHCAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA, US - AUG. 30, 2026: NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Sunday, August 30. The rocket launched from pad 39A carrying the telescope, which is named after NASA’s first chief astronomer. Roman will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than the Hubble Space Telescope and could measure light from one billion galaxies during its operational lifetime. The telescope will investigate dark energy and dark matter, conduct a statistical survey of planetary systems and support a broad range of astrophysics research.
