Florida, United States - June 17, 2026 New eyewitness video captured a towering plume of smoke rising from a major brush fire in western Miami-Dade County, Florida. The footage, filmed by @intrepidweather on June 17, shows thick smoke billowing into the sky near a busy roadway lined with palm trees, businesses, and passing traffic. Officials said the Quarry 2 fire, burning near Northwest 137th Avenue and Northwest 41st Street in the Everglades area, scorched more than 15,900 acres of grass and brush. A second nearby wildfire also expanded as dry weather and gusty winds fueled fire activity. The smoke drifted across parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties, reducing visibility and impacting air quality for residents. Video credit: @intrepidweather
