Madison, United States - May 27, 2026 Shortly after 3 p.m. on May 27, the Madison Township Fire Department was dispatched to the 13000 block of North Mann Road for a water rescue. When crews arrived, they found a vehicle in the water with one person still inside. The driver managed to make it back to land without help from firefighters. As emergency crews were preparing to leave the scene, they heard a baby deer being swept downstream by rapidly rising floodwaters. Captain Joe Sinclair entered the water and rescued the deer, safely bringing it back to shore. Medics at the scene provided care for the animal before it was transferred to a local animal rescue. Officials said North Mann Road remained underwater and impassable at the time of the post. The fire department urged drivers not to travel through flooded roads, warning that water can be deeper and faster-moving than it appears. Officials reminded motorists: “If you see water over the road, turn around, don’t drown.”
