Footage showed Egyptian supporters marching toward the stadium, waving Egyptian flags, chanting and singing. Iranian fans also arrived at the stadium before kickoff. The footage also showed pro-Pahlavi demonstrators staging a protest outside the stadium, carrying banners and placards. Football fans carrying Palestinian flags gathered in the area, where scuffles broke out among demonstrators and chants of "Free Palestine" were heard. Supporters entered the stadium as security measures remained in place around the venue, while different groups of fans continued chanting outside.
