U.S. President Donald Trump's three-day state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping has been closely watched by the world, including pickleball exchange students and teachers in Rockville in Maryland. Jeffrey Sullivan has overseen two pickleball exchange trips to China. The first MCPS pickleball trip to China took place in April 2025, with 31 students as well as supporting staff traveling to Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing. In February this year, a group of Chinese students then visited the U.S. That was quickly followed by a second trip by MCPS students to China.
