Hyde, United Kingdom - July 12, 2026 Firefighters battled a major moorland fire above Dovestone Reservoir in Saddleworth, Greater Manchester, which started Saturday, July 11. The massive fire sent smoke as far as Sale, Stockport and Levenshulme. The cause is under investigation. Residents were advised to keep their windows shut.
