VARIOUS OF SECURITY OFFICIALS STANDING AT AY YILDIZ JOINT HEADQUARTERSANKARA, TÜRKİYE - JULY 02: Türkiye's Ay Yildiz Joint Headquarters, which will bring the command of the Turkish Armed Forces under one roof, is set to host its first official event during the NATO Summit in Ankara on July 7-8. The headquarters, whose foundation was laid by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Aug. 30, 2021, has largely completed its structural construction. The new complex will house the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff and the Army, Navy and Air Force commands on a single campus. Inspired by the crescent and star of the Turkish flag, the headquarters has been designed with smart building technologies, environmentally friendly features and advanced security systems, including protection against cyber, ballistic and CBRN threats. As part of the NATO Summit, a reception for visiting defense ministers and senior NATO officials will be held in the "Star" section of the Ay Yildiz Joint Headquarters.
