According to the ministry, the vehicle was selected for inspection following a risk analysis and referred for X-ray screening, where suspicious density was detected. A detailed search by customs enforcement teams uncovered six Pomeranian puppies with an estimated market value of 472,680 Turkish liras ($10,130) that were being brought into the country illegally. The puppies were confiscated, while the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the smuggling attempt.
