The adult seal dragged itself onto the swim platform of a yacht anchored in Hebil Bay, located off the coastal neighborhood of Turkbuku. The unusual sight quickly drew the attention of nearby boaters and residents. Witnesses recorded the seal on mobile phone cameras as it relaxed on the stern of the vessel. After resting undisturbed for a while, the seal slid back into the Aegean Sea and swam away. Mediterranean monk seals are among the most endangered marine mammals in the world.
