Dan Caine, visited Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, on Tuesday, July 7, ahead of the NATO leaders' summit hosted by Türkiye. Caine laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, observed a moment of silence, and signed the Anitkabir Special Book during the official ceremony. The high-level military visit came as Ankara welcomed world leaders and international defense officials for the two-day NATO summit. The NATO summit continues through Wednesday, with allied leaders set to discuss defense investment, military support for Ukraine and efforts to expand the alliance's defense industrial base.
