President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inspected the newly opened section before attending the inauguration ceremony and traveled with journalists from Halkali Station to Kayasehir Station. Speaking during the journey, Erdogan highlighted the line's speed and modern infrastructure, saying trains can reach speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour. He also announced that the Halkali-Istanbul Airport Metro Line will be free of charge for passengers until July 31. The new section is expected to strengthen transportation links between Istanbul's western districts and the airport while reducing travel times for commuters and visitors.
