VARIOUS OF MEETING BETWEEN WORLD LEADERSFILE FOOTAGE - SHARM EL-SHEIKH, EGYPT - OCT. 13: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told fellow Group of Seven leaders Tuesday, June 16, that she quit smoking a month ago, a confession captured by a hot microphone during an informal conversation at the summit. While leaders gathered ahead of a session, Meloni was heard discussing her smoking habits with other participants as they waited for U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to arrive. In the footage, Meloni noted she had successfully stopped smoking one month earlier. The exchange came months after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was overheard encouraging Meloni to quit during a casual conversation on the sidelines of the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. At that event, Erdogan told Meloni: "I saw you coming down from the plane. You look great. But I have to make you stop smoking." Macron, who was standing nearby during the previous exchange, had responded with a laugh, saying, "It's impossible."
