[...] ANKARA, TÜRKIYE - JULY 8, 2026: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke to reporters Wednesday, July 8, ahead of the North Atlantic Council meeting during the 36th NATO Summit in the Turkish capital of Ankara. Starmer said the Ankara summit comes at a critical moment as allies confront the war in Ukraine and rising maritime tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. He noted that leaders will discuss a range of pressing security issues and intend to agree on concrete actions to strengthen the alliance's defensive capabilities.
