Syria: Four Killed As Ferry Sinks In Eastern Syria.

Deir ez-Zur, Syria - July 12, 2026 Four people were killed, including two children, while 15 people were rescued and teams searched for further missing passengers on Sunday after a ferry carrying more than 35 civilians sank in the Euphrates River in the eastern Syrian city of Deir Ezzor, officials said. The ferry suffered a mechanical failure before being swept into a temporary military pontoon bridge, causing it to capsize, they said.
