In an emotional obituary posted to Instagram on Monday, the Pretty Little Liars actress confirmed her dad passed away "suddenly" on 17 July. He was 68. "My dad was mind-numbingly funny, sensitive, and deeply kind. He adored his family, my stepsisters, all his grandbabies, his dogs (and mine), his lifelong friends, and my stepmom, Stacy - the love of his life. He was so proud of his career in farming and of his hometown of Milan, Tennessee." Lucy went on to describe Preston as a "true Southern man" who loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and farming.
