Sep 28, 2026
Manang, Nepal - September 27, 2026 At least 21 people have died, five remain missing and five others have been injured after several days of heavy rainfall triggered new floods, landslides and inundations across Nepal between September 24 and 27, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. The disasters have affected areas including Baglung, Palpa, Myagdi, Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Dhanusha, forcing authorities to relocate around 2,000 people to safer areas as rivers rose and hundreds of homes were damaged or flooded. The rainfall was linked to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, while rescue and relief operations continued on September 28.
