The annual event brought together boat owners and visitors along the capital’s waterways, showcasing colorful vessels and canal traditions. Organized by the Inland Waterways Association, the festival celebrates the UK’s canal heritage and promotes the preservation of inland waterways. First held in 1983, the Canalway Cavalcade has become one of the largest canal festivals in the country, attracting thousands of visitors each year with parades, live music and family activities. The vibrant waterways festival will take place from 2nd to 4th May 2026.
