VARIOUS OF PATIENTS INSIDE HOSPITAL / MEDICAL PERSONNEL TREATING PATIENTSTYRE, LEBANON - MAY 18, 2026: Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli military’s attacks on Monday, May 18, in Tyre, Lebanon damaged Jabal Amel Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the region. Following the attacks, the hospital building sustained material damage, and it was reported that healthcare services in the region were also adversely affected as a result of the incident. The attacks came despite the US-mediated ceasefire that was announced on April 17 and later extended until the beginning of July. Since March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed nearly 3,000 people, injured more than 9,000 and displaced more than 1.6 million, about one-fifth of the country’s population, according to Lebanese officials.
