Nairobi, Kenya - September 13, 2026 Footage shows migratory birds in Kenya as BirdLife International released its sixth edition of the State of the World's Birds report at the Global Partnership Meeting and Global Flyways Summit 2026 in Nairobi, September 13, 2026. The report found that 11 percent of the world's 1,843 migratory bird species are threatened with extinction, 45 percent have declining populations, and seven species have been lost in the past 150 years, with climate change, illegal hunting, and habitat destruction identified as key drivers.
