VARIOUS OF EMERGENCY PERSONNEL CUTTING AND OPENING VEHICLES / DAMAGED VEHICLESGAZA, PALESTINE - JUNE 22, 2026: Regad Ashur, an 18-year-old high school senior, was killed and three other Palestinians were injured on Monday, June 22, when Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted civilian vehicles in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza, Palestine. It was reported that Ashur, the only child of her family, had been dreaming of attending university and was celebrating the completion of her high school final exams. Palestinian Red Crescent teams transported the injured and the body of the young woman to Seraya Sahra Hospital in the city, while medical teams continued their work in the area. Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli attacks and gunfire have killed 1,021 Palestinians and injured 3,249 others, according to figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry. The ceasefire was reached after two years of a genocidal war launched by Israel on Oct. 8, 2023. The offensive killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and wounded over 173,000 others while destroying about 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, with the UN estimating reconstruction costs at roughly $70 billion.
