Israeli Forces Say Hamas Rafah Battalion Commander Killed.

Gaza - June 30, 2026 Israeli forces and the Shin Bet said they carried out a strike yesterday that killed Mohammed Fathi Abdelhai Abu Fakher, described as commander of Hamas’s “Yabna” Battalion in the Rafah Brigade. According to the provided information, he had recently been involved in recruiting and training new operatives and trying to rebuild the battalion’s capabilities. Israeli forces also said Abu Fakher had held senior supply roles in Hamas’s military wing and was involved in weapons smuggling into Gaza over many years.
