Authorities announced that construction of the underwater tunnel has reached 95 percent completion. The project serves as a critical component of Iraq's ‘Development Road’ initiative, which aims to establish the Grand Faw Port as one of the largest maritime hubs in the Middle East. During the site visit, delegations inspected the progress of the infrastructure designed to connect regional trade routes. Local residents joined officials to mark the milestone as the first vehicles successfully passed through the tunnel sections.
