VARIOUS OF BOATS SAILING UNDER HAZEPALEMBANG, INDONESIA - AUGUST 22, 2026: Smoke from wildfires blanketed the Indonesian city of Palembang on Sunday, causing unhealthy levels of air pollution. The haze from forest and land fires has affected not only Indonesia but also neighboring countries, including Malaysia and Singapore. Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said Malaysia would use ASEAN diplomatic channels to seek a solution to the transboundary haze caused by forest and land fires in Indonesia.
