The hearing was scheduled for on Thursday, June 25, after French authorities accused Kazib, spokesperson for the Revolution Permanente party and a presidential candidate, of promoting terrorism through his online posts related to Palestine. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the Paris courthouse before the hearing, carrying Palestinian flags and calling for the case against Kazib to be dismissed, while also demanding that convictions handed to activists over their support for Palestine be overturned. Among those attending the rally were Kazib, EuroPalestine President Olivia Zemor and Jean-Luc Melenchon, founder of the left-wing France Unbowed (LFI) party and a presidential candidate. Addressing supporters, Kazib described the proceedings as politically motivated, arguing that voices opposing the war in Gaza and criticizing the government were being targeted. Melenchon also addressed the crowd, saying that individuals defending Palestinian rights were facing increasing pressure, while those responsible for crimes against Palestinians had not been held accountable before French courts.
