Storyline Robot chefs win over diners in southwest China's Sichuan The next stir-fry you eat in Sichuan, China might just have been made by an automatic wok. These restaurant robots pour, stir, and season dishes without the help of a human. In this restaurant, customers told a reporter the robot made dishes were delicious. Diner: "It's not bad, quite home-style. And it suits local people's tastes fairly well." The founder of the robot company says the machines have been upgraded with "self-learning" AI capacities that let them record and replicate a chef's operating habits with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.1 units. Zheng Haotian, founder, cooking robot company in Chengdu City: "The new model has become more intelligent and can truly achieve automatic cooking. With the press of a button, it will automatically add the ingredients, cook, plate the dish and clean the wok — a full-chain process." The founder says their products are being used in fast-food chains and small mom-and-pop shops. This year they’ve shipped 6,000 units to clients in 14 countries and regions.
