DRONE SHOT OF KONJIC CITYKONJIC, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA - AUG. 7: Military helicopters have joined efforts to extinguish forest fires in Konjic, in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Monday, Aug. 7. Firefighting efforts are ongoing in the forested areas of Kanjani and Ovcari districts, said Konjic Fire Brigade in a statement. Military helicopters were deployed to the scene due to the challenging terrain in the mountainous area, which limits ground access, the statement added noting officials fear the fires, fueled by strong winds, could spread to nearby residential areas. The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina also issued a statement highlighting that firefighting operations remain extremely difficult in hard-to-reach areas.
