Participants marched from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Ministry building on Nation's Martyrs Boulevard under the slogan ‘Albania is not for sale.’ The crowd demanded the immediate cancellation of the project and called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. The multi-billion-dollar development has sparked intense criticism over alleged links to the family of US President Donald Trump, specifically his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner. The project is estimated to cost around $4 billion and is said to include approximately 618 acres within the protected coastal ecosystem. The development is reportedly being pursued by Kushner's investment firm and has received support from the Albanian government. The Albanian Special Prosecution Office opened an investigation into the land allocation and acquisition process for the project. The protests against the tourism project have also evolved into a broader expression of discontent with the current government, with some demonstrators calling for a "revolution" and the removal of the prime minister and his government.
