New Mexico Republican Party's HQ set on fire, tagged with 'ICE=KKK'

Federal agents are conducting an arson investigation in Albuquerque after officials say a fire was intentionally set at the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters

The words ICE equals KKK were also spray painted on the building in the early Sunday morning incident

In a statement, the party called it a horrific attack saying it's not an isolated incident, but part of a pattern of politically motivated violence nationwide

New Mexico GOP chairwoman, Amy Borrella, says it's now being investigated as a hate crime

Was anyone anticipated or supposed to be in the building at the time of this attack

No, thankfully not. And that's been one of my worries, you know, for the last few months, is with all this going on across the United States

I'm really worried about our safety of our staff. This has been deemed a hate crime

And I know that they're going to be back today to do more investigations and collect more

During Fernandez's town hall Saturday, she pushed back on the Trump administration's federal funding cuts

And we have a three-pronged. Legislate, litigate, agitate. And you guys are part of the agitate part

Borrella said Fernandez's words at the town hall were a sharp contrast from her statement on X

at Town Hall to discuss about the love of the community, and you use the words agitate, I think is contradictory

Local fire officials are investigating the arson incident, along with the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives
