Former First Lady Michelle Obama is addressing those divorce rumors again

She's handling it with the same candor that we've come to expect and maybe just a little bit of fun shade

The fact that people don't see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors of the end of our marriage

Michelle Obama is tired of the internet playing detective. On NPR's Wildcard this week, she blamed society's obsession with instant gratification and couple selfies for fueling the rumors

First, there were rumors that actress Jennifer Aniston and Barack Obama were having a secret affair last year

There is no truth. You know Barack Obama. I've met him once

Met him once. I know Michelle more than him. Then came the comments from Megan McCain on her podcast, saying she's heard from journalists

that the divorce rumors are true. People also noticed Barack attending a string of events alone, like former President Jimmy

Carter's funeral, President Trump's inauguration, and even a Los Angeles Clippers game

There was also Barack own admission in April that he been working to dig himself out of a deep deficit with Michelle by making their marriage fun again after years of putting politics first I so glad I didn have a boy

Because he would have been a Barack Obama. And this clip from her podcast with brother Craig Robinson may have been misunderstood

Michelle was reflecting on the challenges of raising boys in America from traffic stops to being a compassionate man

Now, all this speculation pushed Michelle to speak out even before this week

In April, on actress Sophia Bush's podcast, Work in Progress, she addressed why people assumed the worst about her absence from Barack's public appearances instead of just accepting the fact that she was choosing to live an intentional life

This year, people were, you know, they couldn't even fathom that I was making a choice for myself, that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing

You know, this couldn't be a grown woman just making a set of decisions for herself
