Hollywood car-ramming suspect was kicked out of club prior to attack: Report

New details about a car ramming attack outside an East Hollywood nightclub over the weekend that injured more than 30 people

Police are now revealing a potential motive and the suspect's lengthy criminal history

Also, new details are being shared about the man who shot the alleged attacker after the crash

Authorities tell ABC News the suspect, 29-year-old Fernando Ramirez, was potentially motivated by revenge

and may have unleashed his attack while in an alcohol-induced rage. Police say Ramirez was kicked out of the Vermont Hollywood nightclub around 2 a.m. Saturday

Then he got in his car, made a U-turn, and plowed into the crowd on the sidewalk

36 people were hurt with some suffering broken bones and lacerations, all expected to survive, including Ramirez

who was injured in a shooting after the crash, according to LAPD

Police say toxicology tests are pending to determine if alcohol played a role in the crime

Authorities arrested Ramirez on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Ramirez blood alcohol was above the legal limit and may also face DUI charges according to investigators Police also released a photo of the suspect accused of shooting Ramirez amid the

chaotic scene moments after the crash. Officials have not released a name but described the shooter

as a 5 foot 6 150 to 170 pound Hispanic man. He was last seen wearing a blue Dodgers jacket at a

light blue jersey with the number five as well as blue jeans. LAPD says he has gauges in both ears

and a goatee. Ramirez was reportedly kicked and punched after plowing in the crowd. Police say

after being pulled from the car he was shot in the butt. The man who shot him fled the scene and

remains on the loose. Police also note Ramirez has a long criminal history including charges of

assault and misdemeanors. In 2022 Ramirez was charged with domestic battery. That case is still

pending. He also served a sentence and placed on parole for attacking a man outside a Whole Foods
