This is for anyone who is interested in watching torture in real time. I included the pre-adjustment measurements and chats in case anyone cares about that. The entire process wasn't recorded, but this is what I have. For the actual procedure, skip to minute 9. And warning....it's gross. If you are going through surgery and would like help, head over to https://learn.strabismussolutions.com and take advantage of the resources that I offer!

Two years ago, I had Strabisness surgery and I've had some people asking for like the raw footage of the suture adjustment that I did in the office about a week after the surgery
0:16
So if you want to know all about like that surgery and more of me like talking through the whole process, I have videos about that that I will link below
0:27
you can also go to my website strasmasolutions.com you can learn more about how i combined
0:32
surgeon therapy for more you know a better success so anyways this video is basically just all the
0:40
raw footage of my entire appointment so meeting with the orthoptist meeting with the surgeon
0:46
and then him adjusting my sutures and it doesn't have the entire process because i started
0:52
passing out about halfway through and so then my mom who was recording had to kind of
0:57
help me and anyways so there's a part in the middle that's missing and I kept
1:01
passing out and not and so the camera was going on and off so it's not necessarily
1:06
the whole thing but this is everything that I have if you're curious about what's
1:10
actually happening I will tell you it's really gross and bloody and red and like
1:15
knives in my eyes I can't watch it it's super gross to me and makes me pass out
1:20
so if you like that sort of thing you just have at it and enjoy this is great I'm
1:25
like she got the fly I know not the fly but the little it wasn't like I mean yeah it wasn't like the BTS for like
1:34
ring floating but it was like oh my gosh that's really darn cool super still like
1:40
like one of them's inside my brain yeah but they don't hurt too much good yeah it feels
1:47
different I try to tell people it's an interesting feeling I don't like it pointing in I'm
1:51
very not used to it and then I try to like straighten them and then my brain straightens by
1:56
moving it this way because it's used to it's what it's used to so it makes it even worse I'm like
2:03
it's very irritating look there for me so we're a week one right okay okay and Dr. Peterson
2:12
we may adjust today based on depending on what we mentioned so let's take a look can you see that
2:21
G up there and then you're okay watch it for me just
2:52
Keep watching. So you're gonna have headaches with this at all? Mm-hmm. Tons
3:00
The headaches have been way more bothersome than the eye pain. Because the eye pain, I just close my eyes and it feels better
3:06
The headaches, you're there. Yeah. Look right here at my light. Yeah, so we're gonna adjust that back out to me
3:13
So what is that one? 25. The good thing, though, I would much rather have you week one crossed than the R&D
3:21
then already going back out. Because the tendency after this surgery is for the eye to want to go back out again. Okay
3:29
So we purposely turn it. And I like it to sit between about 6 and 10. Yeah
3:37
Because then as it heals it will pull back to about zero. Can he adjust that much
3:41
Oh, he can? Yeah, you can adjust quite a bit. Oh, I was, didn't think he would be able to adjust very much
3:49
Yeah, let me just look at what he did here. like you did here. See, put you on that
3:54
But is that just a pigment of my imagination? It feels different because it's going to feel that way
3:59
Okay I just curious Yeah no it a good question I show you a no Let me put it over the ice Yeah Yeah Okay That weird So you had X yeah Same. Huh. Crazy
4:15
I was so sure that it was like worse from one direction than the other
4:20
And then it was just my brain being psychotic. And I was like, brain
4:25
Stop it! I'll tell you though, I have your pose this morning is good
4:29
Just like, we're all like, damn it, we got that too late
4:33
We all would have worn our 80 shirts and shit. We're like, how are you doing? I just, oh, my gosh
4:38
But I still can see the eyeball, like, rolling around and he's like, oh, oh, dear
4:43
Oh, that's awful. No, you know, it was like, actually it was ridiculous enough that I woke up at 4.30
4:48
And I was like, what in the world? Like, brain. Come on
4:53
It was like so far that it just made me laugh. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, like being late
4:59
Oh, that's like realistic, but... Isn't it amazing what it'll do, though
5:02
However, it'll take something to just spin something out of that? Well, and I think part of the problem is I've avoided thinking about this. Yeah
5:09
For the whole last six days. Sure. And finally I couldn't ignore it anymore
5:16
And it was like all at once. I'm like, maybe I should... The way I think about the adjustable is like dental work
5:22
when they tell you you're not going to feel it. It's just going to be like a lot of pressure. Yeah
5:27
Because I had mine done. I've had muscle surgery as well and adjusting
5:33
And it does. I mean, it's an interesting feeling when he pulls that muscle. It's like, well, that's weird
5:38
It's not painful per se. It just feels strange. But I would tell you, it's so quick and he gets it done so fast
5:44
It's not bad. Well, I would much other go through that and have it straightened out than..
5:48
But that's the nice thing is it gives you some fine-tuning capabilities that you don't have otherwise
5:53
The adjustable sutures is the way to go. Yeah, I'm super excited about it. Okay
5:57
Okay, well, I'll get it in here, let's get this done, okay? All right. We do the adjustable
6:01
Which is awesome. I'm glad that it's an option. Yeah. And Ryan may have mentioned, I'd much rather start from it being in a bit
6:08
Yeah. And going back, then, oh, it didn't work enough and trying to get more out of it
6:13
That's trickier. Okay. So, good. This is good. Perfect. So he said you're going to try to get it within like 10
6:23
If I can get you below 10, I'll be happy with it. Yep. Okay. I can do 10
6:29
So does that, how is the, like, does it hurt like again? Yeah
6:34
Like the same as before? No, it should be as much because I'm doing one muscle instead of four. Right
6:41
So this eye won't really. No, there's been so many people who are like, why did you do both eyes
6:45
Only one was out. I'm like, well, unless I was looking with this eye, then the other one was out
6:49
That's right. That's right. It's tricky to wrap your head around that. I get it, but it's more about the amount than which I had a pretty amount
6:56
and the pretty amount had the previous surgery you had. Yeah. I think it was the right move too
7:02
I was totally like, I would much rather do a little bit on each muscle than all of it on one
7:07
Like some people like, yep, they just did the outside muscle and that's the only one
7:10
And I'm like... Yeah. And we didn't, we had nowhere near enough to do your outside muscles to get that much. Yeah
7:17
You know, we got as much out of them today as, that surgery as we could. Oh really
7:21
And even then, still having to pull those up. So, yeah, it just wasn't an option to do it on one muscle
7:26
or two muscles. Three maybe. I debated that, but then I didn't think that gave me enough flexibility
7:33
for what we're doing now. Perfect. To give us room to go back and forth. I would rather have a
7:38
flexibility. I feel good about it. And I know it's, you know, we always wanted to be done as soon as we're
7:46
done and there and perfect and it just takes some time. I did help like these expectations and my husband is
7:52
the physical therapist. So he's laughing. He's like, you sound like every patient and go see
7:56
two days out from surgery and they're like, how come I can't move my leg? How come I can't do this
8:01
He's like, because you're not super human and it takes six to eight weeks. Like you not I like but I thought I would be different because of all the vision therapy and all those things like you he like no Yeah You just as human as the next person It going to take that
8:15
But I think that's going to help a ton in the long run. Yeah. It doesn't help the physical healing that needs to happen. No
8:21
That just is time. Well, I saw the thing. See? The button, not the fly, but I saw the button
8:27
The button is actually more important. Yes. So I find out. And it wasn't like popping out, but I just knew it was that one
8:35
Yeah. I don't know. Sometimes there's like, I just know like internally, but I can't see it right about
8:41
And that's like in all of vision therapy, that's how it starts. It's like I can sense it and I can guess, but I guess right every time
8:48
Yeah. And then I start to see it a little bit and then I can start to see it a lot. So I'm like, step one
8:54
Step one done. It usually takes effect within about 10 to 20 seconds
8:58
Oh, really? Yeah, the nerve endings are very close, so it really works quickly
9:05
I'm going to put a second one in. You may not feel it going
9:10
I feel it. It's a stinging? No, it just feels like water in my eye
9:15
And that's okay. Having that sensation is fine. Yeah, I didn't feel any stinking at all
9:19
Okay, good. Going out, it feels a little funnier. Does it make my eye go to the middle
9:27
Like, or does it make it just kind of like freestyle? Or does it still want to look
9:30
Not really. It just kind of like when your mouth is numb, it feels like it's physically different
9:35
in position but it hasn't done that specifically okay oh yeah that's interesting
9:43
put one in the other side and then I won't feel any like like I said most people
9:48
when they're here they want to stay with them unless they would pass out so
9:52
you know mom you have a bad history of no I'm not going to look I'm going to
9:57
look the camera and then look away well I can kind of feel it feels weird now
10:02
okay here comes the retractor This will feel strange. You'll definitely feel some pressure on your eyes from this
10:13
There we go. Not as bad as I thought. Good. Now, I'm going to have you look toward me
10:24
and I do reopen that incision, just because I need to get to where those sutures are
10:29
If you feel something sharp, tell me. I feel a little like it's poking me a little bit
10:34
You're doing great though. Now look down towards your shoulder a little bit. Yes
10:41
That is the right spot. And you'll definitely feel some pressure. You may like you say, even feel a little poke or pulling
10:50
But if you definitely feel something sharp and painful, I'll redo some of the anesthesia
10:55
Okay, now we're lifting up that membrane. I know it's kind of freaky
11:03
You're doing great. You're doing great. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I forgot to breathe, so I'm going to start doing that now
11:29
That's a good idea. It's going to great. It's going great
12:00
Ugh, I kind of, kind of... A little sore there? Yeah. Okay, let me redose that
12:11
I didn even feel that one Good Am I looking in the right direction
12:58
Okay, I'm just staring at a fly in the wall. That is good
13:10
Okay, it's going great. Okay
13:47
Okay, very nice. I'm going to tell you that we are closing us, Grant and Branch
13:55
I don't understand. The board voted last night to close your branch
14:01
On whom's authority? The boards. One? What? I'm very sorry. I don't relish telling you this
14:14
You've been a big part of this company, and the board asked me to thank you for your years of service
14:21
You're welcome. A small number of people will be transferred to the Stanford branch and the rest will be getting severance packages
14:28
Am I a small number person or a severance package person? Well, we have a final decision about personnel
14:37
Oh my God. Oh my God! What are they talking about
14:52
I don't know. Is it serious? I don't know, Kev. If you find out anything
15:01
Call me. You got it, buddy. Do you have a lot of the water or tissue
15:21
All right. You know what? I don't get it. I don't get it because our numbers aren't that bad
15:35

15:40
