At first, it looked completely empty. Just sand. Palm trees. Ocean. No docks. No buildings. No reason for anyone to be there. The patrol plane was already passing when something near the tree line moved. Not birds. Not wind. Movement… then stillness. The pilot circled back. From above, the island suddenly felt wrong. Too quiet. Too still. Then the sand came into focus. Three massive letters carved deep enough to cast shadows. S.O.S. Fresh. No one was supposed to be on that island. As they dropped lower, shapes began to emerge from the trees. Not running. Barely walking.
