The idea of AI-generated writing is not new. However, it’s only been in the last year that artificial intelligence has grown to a point where we can use it to help us write our books. The question you might have is: “Can you use AI to write a book?” That answer depends on what type of book you want to write and how much time you want spend doing it. This video explores what the process for using an AI-generated writer looks like and why this service could be helpful for some writers looking for more time or inspiration! * Try Jasper Out And Get 10,000 Free Words (Writing Credits) : https://selfpublishedwhiz.com/tryjasper * Learn more about Jasper : https://selfpublishedwhiz.com/ai-novel-writing-software/

So in this video, we're going to be talking about AI as in artificial intelligence
0:05
and looking at the most popular AI writer today to see if you can actually use AI to help you write or finish your book
0:14
If you have writers block or you have an idea for a book but you just don't know where to begin
0:19
then stay tuned because you might find this video useful. About six months ago, I wrote this post entitled Can You Use AI to Write a Book
0:36
The post did really well and I've had many emails since from people thanking me for introducing
0:43
them. AI writers may be new and frowned upon in the writing community and probably for good
0:49
reason, but in the copywriting and marketing space they are all the rage
0:54
I've noticed there's an equal amount of disgust and joy on this topic so I wanted to
0:59
to get in here and share my thoughts. Firstly, I can see how in the wrong hands
1:05
these tools can result in an influx of terrible, terrible quality books flooding the internet
1:12
But to be honest, that's no different from the hundreds of thousands of terrible quality
1:17
no and low content books out there already. The terrible self-published music
1:22
and of course, all of the videos on the weird end of YouTube that have technically been self-published
1:29
Everybody has the ability ability to create content and the tools to do it. So AI writers are nothing new in that respect
1:36
In my humble opinion, AI writing tools are no different from something like grammaly, which you
1:41
probably didn't know or think of as an AI writing tool itself. So how can you use AI to actually
1:48
help you write a good, non-spammy book or just flesh out your ideas and finally turn them into
1:55
reality? In this video, I'm going to show you how. I'm using what is
1:59
arguably the most popular AI writer on the market today and if you want to try
2:05
it out for free there's a link in the description that gives you access along
2:09
with 10,000 words so without further ado let's get into it okay so this is the
2:17
Jasper AI dashboard and this is the AI tool that we're going to be using to
2:24
write or to assist us in writing a book so This software is very easy to use
2:32
However, it is, there is quite a lot of features. So I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet
2:41
as short and sweet as possible, and just show you just a brief overview
2:45
of some of the things that you can do on the software
2:49
I'm sorry, on the application. So these are some of the templates that it comes with
2:55
And again, I said it's got so many features, we can't just sit here and go through
2:59
through them, but these are mainly used for marketing, SEO, copywriting and whatnot
3:08
But for the, you've got creative story, which I'll show you because that can be quite funny
3:16
but the long form assistant is what you'll be using to help you write your book
3:22
Here we have recipes and these are just done for you commands
3:26
that you can, you just put the information in and Jasper will do the rest
3:31
So you fill it in, you change it up as you go, and it just helps you crack on
3:39
So you've got the Idea Factory, which of course helps you build out your ideas
3:43
You've got the Heroes Journey Outline, which is, I guess that's more for creative writing
3:49
We try that one out in a sec And then you got the perfect non book introduction and outline So that one is more for again building out your idea using the AI tool to help you build out your idea
4:03
And then you, I guess, you put your research and all of that in, and then you just start to flesh it out with the help of the tool
4:12
So it really is, it's kind of like plot factory, but with AI assistance. So, whereas
4:20
you're stuck or wherever you need help expanding or building out an idea or a concept
4:27
the AI tool will just jump in and help you. Wherever you press
4:31
come on, enter or come on J, it will just start writing. And there are little tips and
4:36
tricks that you can do to guide it and to stop it from reading information before so it
4:44
won't repeat itself. You can give it factual information for it to base its, I guess
4:50
its concepts and stuff around. Okay, so apologies if this is really choppy
4:58
but I'm trying to be as quick as I can because I could literally go through this software
5:04
and be on it for hours, showing you all of the different features
5:09
and the way it works. But what I'm just going to do now is just kind of free type
5:15
just to show you its typing abilities. I do have unlimited credits
5:19
so it can't hurt to just show you how it works. And again, if you feel that this is going to be something useful
5:26
in helping you build out your story or just, I guess, helping you finally write that book
5:33
that you've been putting off or that you've not known, you don't know what to do next with it
5:38
then, yeah, again, in the description, check it out, 10,000 free credits
5:43
give it a try, see how you like it, and go from there. So what I'm going to do now is, again
5:49
I'm just going to start writing and we're going to test out its creative writing ability
6:19
was written. I didn't know what was happening to me but I knew that something was different
6:23
I went downstairs and my parents were there. They asked me what was wrong and I told them
6:28
about my hands. They didn't believe me but they took me to the doctor just to be sure
6:33
The doctor did some test and confirmed that I had powers. I'm not even going to try and be
6:41
creative. Let's see what it does because the best thing to do is to start. The best thing to do is to
6:49
start the sentence and layer finish. Because if you're starting from a brand new sentence
6:53
it's going to be using its AI brain to make something up
6:57
And then it starts to dictate where your story should go. If you, again, if you've already got an outline
7:03
you could literally just paste your ideas in and help it build you, and use it to help you build them out
7:10
So let's see what it says. I know now this looks like it's more is writing a creative email less not a story but um in any case
7:33
let go over to power mode creative story so I could just I could copy this you only got 600 characters but I could copy this as my plot Tone of voice I should know And and
8:03
you know, I think this works really well if you have a site where you have a site where you
8:15
where you you already have a readers so not necessarily you don't have to be
8:21
publishing a book but let's say you do short stories and you've already got a
8:26
site and a readership this works really well so we're gonna try out the long
8:45
Let's try out the longer output length. My parents were proud of me and they knew I could make a difference in the world
8:55
As I got older, I started to use my powers for bad. I didn't care about anyone but myself and I wanted to rule the world
9:03
My parents were disappointed in me, but they still love me. All right, so I think we've tested out the creative writing aspects of it quite a bit
9:10
You can see that it can do creative writing. It just builds things out of nowhere
9:19
You've got the Grammally input here, which is awesome, and then you've got the plagiarism checker
9:25
So another thing that you could do is explain it to a fifth grader
9:29
So if you have any text or any, let's say you've got something quite technical
9:34
that you're writing about and you want to make it into a children's book
9:38
I recently done a book about finance for children. and there were some terms that I needed to
9:46
I won't say dumb down, but I'll say explain it to a child, which is this feature
9:52
You can change the output grade level. So let's say you're writing for fifth graders
9:58
which is the standard setting, then you'd want to make sure that your story
10:05
the words, the terms used are fifth grader friendly. And then you can actually just transform
10:13
your text in that way so obviously this is not wildly complicated text but it would sort of put it in layman's
10:23
terms and generate the outputs on the side and you can just switch things out I was excited when
10:34
I got my superpowers I wanted to do everything with them my parents and I started training
10:39
together see it it makes the sentences shorter um The words are simple and then it just flows really well for a child
10:50
I helped people whenever I could and I made a lot of new friends because of it
10:54
My parents were proud of me and knew that I could make a difference in the world. So, yeah, if you're writing a children's book, this would come in handy
11:04
And again, let's see if we change the output level. 12th grader let's see what it gives us okay so again this it's not it's not gonna make it much more complicated than it
11:25
already was but it does give you a few different options I was excited when I got my
11:29
powers I wanted to use them for good and help people my friends help me train and I
11:33
learn how to use my powers in the right way I help people whenever I could and made new friends
11:39
so proud of me and knew that I could make a difference in a world. So pretty much the same. Another thing is content improver which is an awesome tool Okay so I put the same paragraph in content improver and let see what it does now
11:54
Again, if you are using the 10,000 free credits, you do want to make sure that you're amusing them wisely
12:00
So bring those outputs down so you don't waste it because every time you do click generate
12:06
these count towards it. It's not just the long form editor. So, okay
12:12
So content improver, again, you can change the tone of voice, which I'll show you
12:17
I'll do another one after and I'll do angry. So when I got my powers, that's what I wanted to do with them
12:24
Okay. And so began the training, learning how each skill would help me in some way
12:31
and making new friends along this journey of self-discovery. The powers united now
12:38
I don't know, that doesn't sound like it makes sense. On to the next one. When I first learned about my powers, they were a part of the package
12:44
My parents brought me in for training, and it's been an amazing journey ever since then
12:49
one that has led to many new friends and enemies. With all this power came responsibility, the need to use these abilities responsibly
12:58
so as not to cause any harm or destruction on such massive scales
13:03
I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon. That's my devious laugh. So as you can see, it's done that all from this short paragraph
13:15
And again, if you've already written your book and you just want to go through and give it a better feel
13:22
like you feel like you've not put, I guess if you just want to improve the content
13:27
which is what it's for, and you can just take paragraphs at a time
13:31
or sentences that you want to improve that you know you could have probably written better
13:38
yeah, you can just take those and put those into the content an improvement. So now we're going to try a different tone of voice. You can try
13:45
excited, angry. Again, if you want to convey a message and you're not sure that
13:50
you've hit that tone properly, you can again just paste it in and put the tone of voice
13:55
and it will try and give you some alternatives. So let's see how it turns this
14:01
into angry. This doesn't look angry
14:14
When I first got my heart, there was nothing, but it felt like a dream-kind dream to be able to do anything with just one thought, and the universe delivered
14:21
But then things started going wrong. People were always knocking on doors asking for help or advice
14:26
I guess they saw something in me that made them believe hope hadn't abandoned their lives yet, even though it seemed impossible after everything bad happened already
14:34
And best of all, my parents finally understood how this meant, that doesn't sound angry
14:39
Um, when I got my powers, they were everything to me. There was nothing that could stop me
14:46
This new era, I'm going to stretch with me. Some things were difficult without teachers or books
14:51
It took me. Okay, it sounds more frustrated, but they're angry. Okay, what about, well, excited
14:59
It was already excited because he was excited. Um, yeah, so again, I don't want this to go on too long, but if you
15:09
do have any questions just drop them in the comment section I'll try my best
15:13
to answer them or you can I could do another video if need be so that's it
15:19
guys again link in the description check out this amazing software been using
15:24
it for quite a few months now I've been doing all sorts of stuff with it so yeah
15:29
if you if you are stuck have writers block want to build out your book idea
15:36
want to improve your book definitely check this out. And that's it, guys. Peace
