Tongba Recipe

Tongba is a traditional alcoholic drink from the eastern regions of Nepal, especially popular among the Limbu and Rai communities. It's a warm, millet-based beverage that’s typically enjoyed during cold weather or festive occasions. The drink is made by fermenting and steaming millet grains, which are then served in a special container, usually a bamboo vessel, and infused with hot water. The drink is sipped through a bamboo straw and can be refilled multiple times, with the water gradually soaking into the millet to release its flavors.
