⚠️ The Hidden Dangers of Tylenol: Gut Health Risks Revealed ⚠️
Dr. Alan Lindemann (Rural Doc Alan) explains:
💊 Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be a common household medication, but it’s not as harmless as many believe.
🧠 Here’s what you need to know:
Tylenol can increase antibiotic resistance by accelerating the transfer of resistance genes between bacteria, making infections harder to treat.
It also increases gut permeability—a condition often called “leaky gut”—allowing harmful bacteria to move from the intestines into the bloodstream.
This can lead to bloodstream infections or even sepsis in severe cases.
💡 While Tylenol can reduce fever (antipyretic), Dr. Lindemann notes it is not very effective as a pain reliever and is not an antibiotic.
