The feedback has been excellent. I think strikingly realistic has been one of the quotes that's been used today
0:12
So at Babcock, I'm the Managing Director for our training business, and we proudly deliver a whole range of training services
0:18
everything from training ysis to design, delivery and assurance across multiple domains
0:24
So maritime sector, aviation land and also joint operations. We're showcasing today the launch of the marine variant of Byte
0:32
So Byte is the Babcock Immersive Training Experience. We saw a gap in the market and a need to bring training closer to the end user
0:39
to reduce the reliance upon vessel availability, to improve the quality of training and how we use innovation and technology to do that
0:47
So Byte is effectively a containerised training solution. We take different injects that could be sound, smell, vibration
0:55
social media injects to create as realistic as possible environment for people to train in
1:01
The purpose I guess the outcome of that is effectively that realism adds to the training
1:05
experience and it ultimately improves readiness and it provides a really cost efficient and
1:10
effective solution for a whole range of training needs. So we're here launching the marine variant
1:15
which is the second edition. Last year we launched a land variant but actually what we saw were there
1:19
were very similar challenges being experienced by marine customers so vessel availability the need to increase readiness to reduce the at sea burden and hence then we thought well actually we could take the same smarts the same system and
1:32
deploy it in a marine environment to have the same you know excellent effects and outputs for our
1:37
marine customer so that's why we're launching marine today it is a really versatile product
1:42
it can be deployed across multiple domains and we will look at also showcasing later on this week
1:47
a land and medical scenario as well. So the reception today has been really, really good
1:52
It's day one at DSCI, it's really busy and we've had a number of marine customers come through
1:57
naval customers from right across the world, which has been fantastic and we've been gaining feedback as we go. Our target audience really is anybody that needs a scalable modular training
2:05
solution. So whilst we're showcasing the marine variant today and tomorrow, we will be transitioning
2:10
that to a land and medical variant for the last two days of DSCI. So really our target market is
2:17
anybody that needs a training solution where they can take it closer to the end user
2:21
that's ultra realistic, it's a safe to fail environment, and it really uses innovation at
2:25
the core. So we believe that innovation is really, really critical, enhancing the training cycle
2:31
particularly against the changing landscape of modern warfare. We've seen through things like
2:35
the strategic defense review, the use of innovation and technology to augment and emphasize training
2:40
outputs is pivotal. We see Byte as a really key complementary product that forms part of our
2:45
training ecosystem deliver the very best effect and outcomes for our customers
