From Oshkosh, thank you so much for joining us today
0:03
Yeah, thanks for having me. The rumor has it it is your one-year anniversary with Oshkosh
0:07
It's been a great year. And you started last year at AUSA
0:11
My first day. That is fantastic. Yeah, I was out there talking about products I had just met
0:15
Well, look at you now. It's been a good year. What an incredible year
0:19
We've had a really good year. You've got a lot of stuff going on with the show, don't you? We do. We do. It's busy
0:24
Tell me about the big deal. The DXPV? The DXPV. Well, we're really proud of it. We recently loaded the prototype vehicle
0:34
We expect that to come off the line, be ready for a customer, ready for a test around Q1
0:41
But it represents the beginning of a long partnership with the Dutch
0:45
We've done a number of things with the Dutch. They're a great partner of ours
0:49
And this is just the next iteration of our light vehicle family that started with JLTV
0:55
When it started with JLTV, how did you get from there to here
1:01
Well, we were the ones who started it. So we produced around 24,000 JLTV over the course of the past many years
1:09
That story actually started back in the MATV days. We had started investing in key enabling technologies around 2008
1:18
We matured it, and we've driven it not just into production, but we've continued to modernize it over the course of time
1:25
And that's what led us to the partnership with the Dutch. That is really cool
1:30
So you featuring your family of medium tactical vehicle A2 low velocity airdrop That a lot of words How can people better understand what that actually does Well low velocity airdrop means you push it out of a C
1:46
and hopefully it's low velocity so it can land and you can assemble it. The cab drops down
1:51
But what it represents is the fact that customers are using our products much differently than they used to
1:59
So it's all about mobility and integrations that go on the back end
2:03
And that medium-sized vehicle is what we're seeing as a really nice sweet spot in the market
2:09
So the low-velocity airdrop means that they want to push it out to the tactical edge
2:14
and get it where it's needed most because it is a big carrier for key integrations on the battle space
2:21
It sounds like it. So five years from now, how will a soldier be using this new vehicle
2:29
Well, it's similar to all of our vehicles. What we always talk about is that the ground vehicle segment's been pretty quiet over the past number of years
2:39
And you mentioned my one-year anniversary. One of the things I was very excited about is watching the growth in integrations that go on and depend on our vehicles
2:49
So what does that mean? It means if you look at Counter UAS, the growth in that market has been spectacular
2:57
Directed energy, spectacular. But every one of those solutions requires mobility underneath of it
3:04
So the way they'll use it in the next five years is all around, we need a dependable quick and easy mobility chassis that we can integrate the next best thing on top of And that where we going Interesting I curious what the next iteration or add will be because there sounds like there
3:26
a lot of functionality, a lot of room to grow. A lot of room to grow
3:30
That's how we build our platforms is to continue to stay fresh. One of the most popular things has been exportable power
3:38
So the other thing we're showcasing in our booth, we'd love it if you stopped by, is the hybrid version or the eJLTV
3:46
And that platform is all about exportable power and the integrations on the back end it provides
3:53
all the way up to 115 kilowatts, which is a massive amount of power on the battlefield
3:58
Wow. Now, how is that different from the DXPV? Well, it shares the same bones
4:04
So, again, the DXPV is a derivative of JLTV. The JLTV, as an Oshkosh original design, has been something we've matured and modernized
4:17
And the DXPV is one version of it for one customer. And the eJLTV, we think, is going to be the same type of chassis underneath of a variety of new customer integrations
4:28
That is really cool. You should stop by. I would love to
4:32
What else is going on in Oshkosh? Well, one of the things people don't really think of when they think of Oshkosh, and this
4:37
is something we're doing differently at this show, is we're telling a much bigger story
4:43
So Oshkosh about billion 18 employees and we about 90 non So if you look at what makes our company unique we have a number of clock speeds in the company
4:59
We're not just defense. We have a race car team that spends week by week
5:05
throughout the course of a season racing, collecting data, driving iteration, and winning
5:11
We have factories that produce two of something all the way up to 100 of something a day
5:17
We have routes at national scale. So the United States Postal Service, we have refuse customers, we have fire and rescue
5:26
These fleets have to be supported, and it's all about readiness and uptime
5:30
So if you take all of these together, that's what we call the battlefield clock
5:36
And so Oshkosh has been delivering this for many years to customers, but we haven't been good about telling our story, and that's what's different in our booth this year
5:45
It's the whole Oshkosh we're bringing to bear. When you bring that wholeness, what do you want people to take away so that they recognize that 10% and not just focus on the other 90
5:56
Well, I think when you walk around the show, there's a lot of companies who have heard the message from the department that we need you to act more commercially
6:06
And the thing I'd point to is that there is a lot of acting, but the difference is we don't have to act
6:12
We are. We're 90% non-defense, and that is a competitive advantage. We can be the company we actually are
6:18
It is so wonderful to meet you. Congratulations on your anniversary, Chief Growth Officer
6:23
Good to meet you. Pleasure to talk with you today. Can't wait to see everything that you've brought to AUSA this year
6:29
Thanks for having me. Thank you so much for joining us
