Brand new knives from Walmart that don't suck? Stick around and find out
0:14
So I am super excited to do this video because I stumbled upon some new knives
0:23
that are being released to Walmart for sale in Walmart stores and Walmart
0:30
online and they look phenomenal. I was just so blown away by them. They look
0:35
super cool. The specs were good. It all kind of met my criteria for knives and
0:41
tools and the price on these things are amazing. And what's even cooler is you
0:47
can actually go into a Walmart store and look at these and I'm gonna do
0:53
something I've never really done. I'm gonna do an unboxing video because these
0:58
literally were on my doorstep when I showed up from work today and I thought
1:02
I'm gonna grab them, throw them in the pack, head out and lay them out and go
1:08
through them with you. Open the packaging, let you guys see these things because I
1:13
think these are gonna be some really great options for bushcrafting, survival
1:20
EDC, you know, budget-friendly stuff that doesn't suck. So let's see what I'm
1:29
talking about. So the brand is Swiss Tech and Swiss Tech, if you're familiar with
1:36
them, they have been around for a little while and you a lot of times you'll find
1:41
their products in Walmart and Meijer and other kind of big-box stores and online
1:45
and they always have these really cool little EDC keychain multi-tool type
1:51
things. They've been around for a while, like I said, and people love them and
1:57
recently Walmart's been carrying some other Swiss Tech stuff in the outdoor
2:02
department. I picked up a battery, like a phone charging block, like a portable
2:08
battery that's Swiss Tech and I've been really happy with it. Picked it up last
2:13
year, works perfectly, but now they've come out with these knives and these
2:20
things are just, they're just incredible. The packaging, here it is, super nice, but
2:29
we're gonna look at the Swiss Tech Practisc, it's our multi-tool. We're gonna look at the Grundit, which is an EDC flipping pocket knife, and then
2:43
the one I'm super excited about, the Stahlhorn, which is their fixed blade
2:47
knife, which I think is going to be a really great kind of beginner bushcraft
2:53
survival knife. So let's look at these a little bit closer. So I think the first one we'll look at is the Grundit, which is an EDC pocket
3:17
knife. Super nice packaging on these. The steel is Aus8, so you know it's not
3:27
super steel, but it's respectable and I've owned a lot of pocket knives that
3:34
are an Aus8 and I've never had an issue with it. There's the box all opened up and it's got a really nice rundown of the
3:48
features. So we have Aus8 steel, titanium coating, it's a back flipper, ceramic
3:55
ball bearing, anodized aluminum with carbon fiber inlay, and a lanyard hole
4:04
Let's see if I can get this out of here without killing myself. Oh wait, that
4:09
flips open, that's nice. So we've got a lock in the frame. Oh that's nice, that is so smooth. This thing
4:29
this thing feels great in the hand. I love the feel of that carbon fiber and
4:37
look at the red back spacer with the lanyard hole. That is cool. I mean come on
4:45
this is ridiculous. Nice, super nice. So price-wise on these, this bundle right
4:56
here, these three pieces of gear, under $130. Free shipping from Walmart. I think
5:05
this guy is in the $30 range, but that's nice. And then let's, the edge, that's got
5:15
a decent edge on it. That's not bad. I like that profile, that tip profile. That
5:24
is a super sharp looking EDC pocket knife. I'd be proud to carry that every
5:31
day. Beautiful. Let's look at the multi-tool. This is the Praktish, I guess that's how you
5:53
pronounce that on there. It says locking tools, 17 tools, texture grip. Oh my gosh
6:09
look at that. Isn't that beautiful? Holy cow, that is super slick. Look at that thing. I
6:21
love the textured handle on this thing. That's comfortable too to hold, man. That
6:27
is nice. And that, the red accents, that is so cool. Look at that thing. Now that
6:35
really reminds me of what the Leatherman Wave, that kind of the way the Wave
6:39
opens up. $50. This is under $50 for this tool. So we've got pliers, we've got wire
6:50
cutters, we have a main blade, super sharp. We have a file. I love having a
7:06
file in a multi-tool. It really comes in handy, especially for woods use. We have
7:12
our sheep's foot serrated blade for rope cutting. And then the other tools
7:22
are on the inside. Got a flathead screwdriver, nice. Of course a Phillips
7:30
nice. Gotta have one of those. What's this? There's another little tool in there
7:35
I'm gonna get out. What is that? Phillips. Okay, that's just the two. So you got the
7:43
Phillips. Oh wait, there is a third. There's a mini, mini, mini Phillips for
7:48
electronics, cameras, things like that. So that's super handy to have a small one
7:52
like that. You don't have to carry something separate. I find that useful for sure. And
7:58
then we've got this little cutter for rope cord. It's got a pry bar on the end
8:10
of it. Kind of a sharpened little thing on the end there. Got a can opener of
8:16
course, or bottle opener I guess. It's probably a bottle opener. And then
8:20
scissors. Scissors are always super handy. I find I use those quite a bit on
8:28
multi-tools. I think that's it. But man, look at that thing. Isn't that beautiful
8:36
It's nice. It's a nice looking tool. So let's see, what does the feature say
8:44
We've got a serrated blade, double tooth saw blade, line cutter, small flathead
8:48
screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, large flathead screwdriver, long nose pliers, bolt grippers, wire cutter, hard wire cutter, wire crimper, spring action
8:58
scissors, mini Phillips screwdriver, can and bottle opener, wire stripper, two-sided file, Aus8 steel blade. But there's more. We're not done. Because it
9:14
comes with a very nice little sheath. Now this is not leather, it's kind of a
9:21
pleather material. That's pretty nice. That looks sharp. Beautiful. Great little package. And then we've even got the Swiss-Tech story on the inside. I mean
9:35
the packaging is really nice. So you know if you're into doing, using this as a
9:41
gift for you know someone, they've got a really nice package. So now we have two
9:48
super nice EDC tools that can be used in conjunction with each other. You can
9:56
carry these together. Perfect. Love it. Okay here's the last one. This is the Stahlhorn fixed blade knife. Purpose
10:16
built, ready for adventure. Aus8 steel once again. We got a kydex sheath
10:20
canvas, my card handles. It is full tang blade. Let's see what we get here. So
10:30
here's the Stahlhorn all put together. We got the kydex sheath. Super nice kydex
10:36
sheath. Check this thing out. Positive lock and click. You've got a belt clip
10:42
that rotates, which I love this kind of clip on a belt sheath because I don't
10:48
like wearing my knife straight up and down. It digs into my muffin top so I can
10:53
turn that, put that there. I can do a cross draw. Good positive click. Got the
11:04
green micarta handle that is, it's smooth but not not overly smooth. It's not slick
11:11
and it's not overly toothy so it has a good feel in the hand. We have very light
11:16
jimping and we have a notch for the ferro rod. I'll show you how that works
11:22
And then we have the lanyard hole in that contrasting red color that matches
11:28
all the other tools. Full tang. I mean look at that. And nice and sharp. And
11:35
what's great about this is, what I like about it so far just handling it, it is
11:39
very comfortable feeling. It has a great balance. It's not overly heavy. It's, it
11:47
seems like it has a good, you know, I think it's kind of lightweight. I guess
11:50
that's the way I would describe it. And then here's the ferro rod. And then what
11:57
you do is, you put that in that groove and pull. And that is making sparks. Not
12:18
a super comfortable ferro rod because it's so tiny, but as a backup it'll do
12:25
just fine. Love that positive click. Of course you got your eyelets so you can
12:33
run some cord through there, some bungee cord, make a nice little kit. So this
12:39
would be a great beginner fixed blade knife to go in your bug out bag, your get
12:45
home bag, or even if you're just starting bushcrafting and stuff and you want something you want to try out, this is nice. I am, I'm impressed
13:18
Alright, I, you know, I cannot believe these tools are gonna be in the Walmart
13:33
stores for purchase. You're gonna be able to go into your Walmart store and these
13:37
are gonna come out I believe August 14th. They're available online right now
13:42
There are more knives in the collection. There was a few that I wanted that I
13:46
couldn't find, but they're, you know, they're stocking this stuff as we speak
13:51
So, you know, for under $150 you have a really nice Flipper EDC pocket knife
14:00
Very respectable. You have a very cool multi-tool that is comfortable in the
14:06
hand, has just the right amount of tools you need, and you have this fantastic
14:11
fixed blade. Now, I'm gonna be definitely doing some more videos on these to come
14:18
We'll do some testing. We'll get this knife out in the field and start doing
14:23
some wood processing with it, some carving tasks and cutting tasks, and just
14:26
let you see how that works because, of course, you want to know. But just opening
14:32
the boxes, looking at these, handling them, I can tell that there's some good
14:37
quality here and it's not gonna break the bank. So, head over to Walmart stores
14:45
after August 14th. Start looking for this stuff in stores. I'll have my
14:52
Walmart affiliate link down below that just takes you to Walmart through
14:55
me, and you can search for this stuff under Swiss Tech Knives. They'll all come
15:00
up. There's a bunch of them. And then, of course, check out all the other affiliate
15:05
links. We've got Amazon, and check out the Facebook group. It's 10.9 thousand
15:11
people on the Facebook group, and people are posting every day. They're
15:15
posting all kinds of cool content. They're sharing their tips and their
15:19
tricks and ideas around bushcraft and preparedness and just getting outside and doing stuff. So, please check that out. That's a very cool way of
15:30
staying in touch with what Prepared Wanderer is doing. And then also check out
15:34
PreparedWanderer.com. That is my website, and on there I have blog articles that I've
15:40
put together along with some of my friends. We're putting content up there
15:44
all the time. There's links to the videos, and then there's links to the Big Cartel
15:49
site that sells Prepared Wanderer Velcro patches and stickers. That helps out the
15:55
channel as well. And as always, thank you so much for watching. Like, subscribe, and
16:00
share if you don't mind. And we'll see you next time on the Prepared Wanderer
