show you guys a new tool that I just got. This is from O-Knife

This is their, what they call a hatchet, but I think it's a little bit more than that and

I think they're underestimating it. So we're going to take a look at this thing in depth and see what you guys think about it

Alright, so this is the new hatchet that I got from O-Knife

If you're not familiar with O-Knife, they are kind of an affiliate of O-Lite and they

sell a lot of knives and tools and I've reviewed O-Knife tools and knives before

I actually did a review of their Fortitude, which actually is a fantastic fixed blade

D2 steel knife. This is their new hatchet that they came out with and for October they have this awesome

orange handle, which of course is right up my alley because I love orange

Of course, being a prepared wandered channel, we've got to have orange, right

But the thing is, what's interesting about this is, you know, they're selling it as a hatchet

And a lot of the reviews and things that I see of it, of course, do very traditional

hatchet type stuff with it. But if you look at this thing, I think you'll understand that this is way more than a hatchet

This to me is very much a demo tool and is perfect in the urban survival application

Now the metal on this is a stainless steel. It has this knurled hammer end on it and that actually looks like it's replaceable, so you

can take that off. We have G10 scales on it for good grippiness and retention and I love that high-vis orange

color so you can see your tool if you're dropping it someplace. And then what's awesome, it has a pry bar on the end, which really puts it in the urban

Another nice feature with these O-Knife tools is they always have really decent sheaths

and this is a very nice kydex sheath. You've got double retention straps, you have a belt lock device on it, flip that down

squeeze that together, and of course that is adjustable, so if you have a narrower belt

you can move that up, or if you have a wider belt you can move it out to the farthest point

so that you can actually hang this off your belt. And what I've done is, since there's some eyelets in here, I've put a big piece of orange

cordage through it, that way it just gives me something to grab onto and helps me also

I will say this thing is biting in incredibly well. It feels very solid, a lot of times hatchets that I've used in the past are either too

short or too light, but this has some good weight to it and it really buries in the wood

So you notice this ridge right there, that's kind of where your pinky chokes into, but

It's a decent woods tool too. So that's a bonus because now you can throw it in a bug out bag and you can transition

from urban to wilderness easily and have at least a tool to facilitate some chopping

You can do some demo work, doing some breaking into items if you need to, like through fences

or doors or whatever, you can do that. So it's multi-purpose, which for the bug out scenario is perfect

This is in D2 steel. It is a fantastic little blade. And as you can tell, it's got some really awesome grooving on the handle

It's really a great pocket knife for woods use. It's just kind of a flipping action like that
