hey y'all welcome to texas my name is satu and today we're gonna talk hoops
0:12
olympic basketball and a lot of fashion i can't wait come in
0:17
How many? Yeah. If you had to guess. Easily over 500
0:28
I love these twos. They're really comfortable fire. So I'm just going to lace these up because I feel like they go with the fit
0:37
Usually I always go about that. I guess I have the luxury to first choose my fit and then choose the fitting shoe with it
0:46
I know other people do it the other way around, but I always love to choose my shoe as a cherry on top
0:53
Style to me means really embracing my own personality and showing my unique persona with my outside appearance
1:02
You know, when I walk in or when I walk around, a lot of people don't really know who I am, but style is the first impression that you make
1:10
When I get dressed here, I really get into this feeling of, okay, I'm feeling good, I'm prepared
1:18
and I feel like I can just walk in with a different side of confidence that I get from that
1:25
I feel like, depending on how I dress, that's the mood I want to be in
1:29
So it's just kind of cool to get into that, like, yeah. Fashion became my thing once I really wanted to pay attention to my branding I would say I always been interested I always watched haute couture shows you know past Paris Fashion Week I would always watch it
1:47
I would always buy magazines. And so I was always interested. But I thought me really showing my fashionable side was like really bold
1:56
And I was kind of scared that people would say, oh, she's not focusing on basketball. She's just focusing on fashion because it's something new that I'm showing
2:03
but honestly now it's just showing like more of me and I really like that and it's good for people
2:09
to see. All right so I've been loving the Stadium 90 shoe and also when I was in LA I got so many
2:17
compliments on it because people haven't really seen it and yesterday I just unpacked these
2:21
baddies and they're so cute and it's just a different look I feel like of a Jordan shoe
2:28
My, oh, I mean, I love my ones. I really love my ones
2:33
And, you know, I'll give Travis Scott some credit because his shoes are fire, and I really love those
2:40
One of my favorite shoes are also the Tinker Jordans. He designed these
2:45
He had them on when we were at Oregon, and he signed them for me, too
2:49
So Tinker Hatfield actually signed these. I think that's really cool. These are the shoes that I had with my sister
2:58
She plays for the Liberty. I think it's very special, you know, to have a sister in the league
3:03
It's pretty cool. And the Jordan logo, they made this as a little ballerina
3:07
Because we have this picture of us two where we're both in ballerina dresses holding hands
3:12
and we were in Gambia. So it ties to home as well
3:16
And I think this is just the most beautiful shoe honestly That my lucky pair I won a Euroleague championship with these So this is the shoe that I got to design with Jordan Brand who my sponsor
3:27
And it really reflects Berlin. And when you've been to Berlin, you can really see a lot of, you know, concrete city, but
3:35
a lot of graffiti. The Berlin Wall is full of graffiti. And I just love the history about Germany
3:41
I love the history about Berlin, which was divided into East and West
3:45
and yeah I mean you can you can kind of just see even my name on here and Air Jordan the crown my
3:52
mom's last name is Kona which means crown in German and I just love it accentuating it a little
3:59
bit um the soul I mean it's kind of glued on sometimes I have it out but you see a basketball
4:05
with a unicorn horn so that's super cool it's really just a reflection of who I am and really
4:10
my own homage to home. I'll start with the tradition with my roots. This is a Gambian dress
4:18
It's very traditional, very beautiful. I went to the market when I was there in January and just got
4:25
some fabric and it's really, really beautiful. So I really wanted, like my first game of the season
4:33
I had planned to walk in with a Gambian dress and just pop out. But yep, didn't get to play
4:40
but it's coming. I also wanted to show, you know, a little
4:43
I guess a little luxury with the Balmain's, beautiful dress and it just looked so good
4:48
I had to get it. This I've already worn. This was my birthday outfit
4:52
Great memories, a little savage, and some really short a short skirt Caused some drama loved it though Some people were mad some loved it And I loved it the most and I feel like I had a little bad girl review moment
5:07
And then my last one that I wanted to show is like a little chic, another dress
5:13
a little longer Parisian vibes for the Olympics. These I would definitely pair with something like that
5:20
I already laid it out, you know, with some cute socks, a little heel, you know, put some height on the 6'4"
5:26
Yeah, I feel like I just, my feminine side comes out even more when I wear heels
5:30
I love it. I think I've stuck more to my roots, but I do think Dallas allows you, it's such a hub
5:36
and Dallas really allows you to just be who you are. And really, like, when you go out, you can really wear whatever you want as long as you look good
5:44
And, you know, you can be comfortable, and I feel like you can really show different type of personalities
5:49
without feeling like someone is going to judge you because you can really wear anything you want here
5:56
And I love that. Yeah, I mean, I have the utmost respect for his legacy
6:00
that he has built here. He's literally the GOAT. And even in Germany, you know, I mean, me as a German player
6:07
I feel like I always have a different relationship to Dirk because he is just such a legend
6:12
And so I love to get to even call him a mentor and like have him as a source of resource
6:17
for me to go back to and just seek his knowledge. He's so smart, and even now he's super integrated still
6:24
in FIBA and the German Basketball Federation, and it's really cool to see how he's still making an impact
6:30
in the basketball world for the lasting generations to come
