Oak Leaf Hydrangea - one of the best Hydrangeas out there

Mar 3, 2026
Quick spotlight on one of my favorite flowering shrubs around - the Oak Leaf Hydrangea aka Hydrangea quercifolia. It is named after the fact that its foliage resembles that of oak trees, the foliage is very similarly shaped. And like the foliage on your oak trees, they take on gorgeous autumnal hues that we all love. Not only is the foliage great, but the plants are incredibly hardy making them accessible for most areas around the country. It is also quite drought tolerant once established, a feature the mop head hydrangeas can never claim. Andddd it will grow in full sun all the way to part shady conditions. Can you see why I love this plant so much?! Do you love them too? Please comment if you do! Don't forget to subscribe and share my channel is you are enjoying what you are seeing :)
