Monstera deliciosa Plant Fruit - How to Harvest the Fruit, Ripen It and What it Tastes Like
Dec 26, 2025
Yes, that Monstera deliciosa growing in your kitchen could in fact produce edible fruit! That said, plants grown exclusively indoors as a houseplant likely will never fruit, but those grown outside year round will fruit quite freely throughout the year. In this video I show you what a Monstera deliciosa flower looks like and then what the fruit looks like after the flower has finished. I then demonstrate how to easily pick them and how to get them to ripen.
Once the fruit is ripening, there are a few things that should be noted, in particular the capacity for the fruit to cause tingling sensations in your mouth. As my harvested Monstera fruit becomes ripe, I eat the fruit and let you know my thoughts on its texture and taste! #monsteradeliciosa #monstera #rarefruits
